Good examples in general, but those fights for me are bigger than 'small hall'.

No not yet Phil asked couple Irish lads but no joy so pascal is organising someone this weekend from England while away with Stephen , yea small hall shows seem to be way forward they can be run without a loss and keep lads busy Timsy is back training hard so hopefully him and Reynolds can be made before Xmas.

Is it wishing thinking or is it that the irish boxing scene [apart from Belfast which seems to be booming ]is slowing staring to recover. :think

Well if you look at the amount of shows taking place in the 26 counties this year (4), compared to last (2), that would indicate so, although the magnitude of these cards seems to be smaller. Although like many have stated, the small hall shows can be made to work, there's much greater risk associated with the bigger cards and no ones got the money for risks at the moment.

As a comparison here are the amount of shows in the 26 counties over the last 10 years:
2013: 4 (3 so far, with one left to go)
    2012: 2
    2011: 4
    2010: 10
    2009: 12
    2008: 14
    2007: 10
    2006: 5
    2005: 6
    2004: 2
    2003: 0

Easy to see the affect of tv on these figures

    and also Northern Ireland:
    2013: 7 (5 so far, 2 to come)-All in Belfast
    2012: 9-All in Belfast
2011: 4- 3 in Belfast, other in Craigavon
    2010: 5- All in Belfast
2009: 6- 4 in Belfast, other in Craigavon and Magherafelt
    2008: 1- 1 in Belfast
    2007: 3- All in Belfast
    2006: 5- All in Belfast
2005: 3- 2 in Belfast, other in Lurgan
    2004: 4- All in Belfast
    2003: 5- All in Belfast

So out of the 4 shows outside Belfast in this time, 3 of them were 20 mins away !

Here's my interview with iFilm London talking about Stephen Reynolds magnificent win and getting him closer to an Irish title! It's directly after the fight so I am pretty buzzed up, so forgive some of the slabbering!

SOG ought to start paying a fellow Black Irish great proper tribute by walking out to some Thin Lizzy. :good

On principle I back anyone who enters the ring to Phil & the boys.
