if canelo fought trout again he would probably knock him out cold this time. to answer your question, he took the mayweather fight over a trout fight for more money, exposure and the chance to beat a future ATG!!!!!

Can you be more specific when you say he wont do better then Trout? What was your score in that fight?

And how do you manage to compare Trout and Mayweather exactly? They are completely different in every way. With different styles, size, strenghts and weaknesses.

Mayweather's best weapon against Southpaws is that right to the body.

Trout has fast reflexes and he's tall and rangy. Floyd will have a lot of trouble landing that punch and Trout is rangy enough to spam him with jabs to win a boring decision.

Trout is a hard fight for Floyd. Don't get it twisted.

At best, Floyd could hope for what Canelo did. It would be close and competitive.

This is the problem with most people on here, they think Canelo is a power puncher that moves forward and cuts off the ring. Everyone seems to think Canelo is another Ricky Hatton.

Watch him fight guys when he's not hurt them - he's patient. He try's to tempt his opponent into throwing something. Once he finds the right time, he land his combinations.

Nobody is considering the possibility that Canelo could win by decision.

i hate when people be tossin around that "SHOT" word...how are you shot when u just came off a good victory, u are the CHAMP, and were 4 yrs younger than your about? So basically because you lost a step, that means you are shot? Cotto might have not been prime when he fought floyd but he wasnt shot and neither was shane because shane just came off his best win. No matter who floyd beats and how he wins, they got somethin ta say..i remember readin alotta people sayin Guerrero was quick, could box and use angles and would give floyd problems, and soon as he got whooped people say the ghost wasnt good and never stood a chance...

Canelito was never a hungry lion.

He was more of a well fed lap dog.

wait until canelo looks absolutely average against molina, a poor mans version of yory boy campas.

you can always tell the people that have not followed boxing very long on how the overrate canelo.

alvarez is the textbook definition of average.

there are some complete morons on this thread.

He is a solid fighter...nothing more nothing less.

Carlos Baldomir gave Floyd a better fight than Canelito.

Mayweather was right when he said Cotto is better than Alvarez....everybody laughed but he was right.
