    I wrote post #33. What's your beef?

This sport just put on an event that is projected to generate more revenue, and possibly more ppv buys, than any other event in its history.

And yet this forum is being polluted by folks and threads claiming some of the most batsh!t insane stuff you've ever read, dayum near all of it being driven by an irrational hate of one particular fighter. Everything from how he's ducking unproven fighters who outweigh him by 15-20 pounds (GGG) to how they are concerned about whether Showtime is losing money.

So yeah, I'm laughing my azz off at these losers. It DOES suck to be them right now. They've spent years praying for that man's downfall and he just keeps whooping arse and making dough. Their souls ARE burning right now. They SHOULD be laughed at, by ALL of us.

It's got nothing to do with '*****s' or any of that lame sh!t folks like to label people around here either. It's about laughing at lames who have a personal dislike a certain fighter so much that they can't even acknowledge the talent and skill he brings to the ring and spam this board with stupidity.

    Any other questions?

Damn. Floyd won, and might break the ppv record, Matthysse lost and got his ass beat, Pac got ktfo, Alvarado beat Rios, Diego Chaves lost. Broner is going to whoop Maidana's ass. Oh well, GG is next to lose. Life is good.

I bought the fight , coz I was hoping for canelo to land something big, or floyd to go for a kill , but after yet another boring performance from Floyd I will never buy his fights again, he's too featherfisted and too boring.

They need to be careful. This fight could harm pay per view sales in the future.

In england PPV was stopped because of a similar situation. David Haye fought Wladamir K, haye was hyped up just as Canelo was, everyone saying he could win. It sold around a million PPV buys in the UK (Only 9 million people in the UK can buy SKY PPV), which is 1 in 9 people. I don't even know how many people have access to showtime PPV in USA , maybe someone can tell me but if say 60 million people like I read, then its like a USA PPV doing 6-7 million buys.

Afterward everyone was so pissed off at being fed another load of lies and hype then it killed off the chance of anymore as they knew nobody would buy into the bs again. Only recently has it started again

Unless they get a good opponent it wouldn't be a surprise if he sells less than the 850,000 that the Guerrero fight did

There's no way in hell anyone half sane would say this would be a flop except for straight-up idiots and trolls.

When you got the biggest Mexican star fighting it'll never be a flop. Canelo brought more than a million fans to buy this fight. Remember Floyd Guerrero made a measly 850K. Without the cinnamon this would've been a disaster :deal

"The $150 million in pay-per-view haul broke the record set by Mayweather's decision victory against Oscar De La Hoya in 2007. That fight generated $136 million from an all-time record 2.48 million pay-per-view buys. Adjusted for inflation, Mayweather-De La Hoya would be worth $153 million in today's dollars.

The $150 million and 2.2 million buys will likely increase as all of the buys are accounted for, giving the fight an outside chance to also break the buy record. Mayweather-De La Hoya was initially announced at 2.15 million buys and then amended a couple of months later when more of the numbers were tallied."

Although numbers are still coming in at the time this article was written I wouldn't say any PPV numbers were broken because if you account for inflation the fight just breaks even with the FMJ vs DLH fight in today's money.

With that said the fight sold great in my opinion. It was tons of hype and the promotion for this fight was great. Even females I knew who know nothing about boxing was talking about this fight. Floyd, Canelo, Lucas had the biggest draw with Garcia being last. I think if Garcia and Lucas actually went on a press tour there could of been a lot better numbers since everyone was expecting a big k.o.
