A shadow of Berto, prime Berto was a much better fighter than Soto Karass, who is just a strong come forward slugger, Maidana beat the **** out of him

Oh great, let's perpetuate the ultra-conservatvism that's blighted Brooks career hitherto! And when he does finally set-up, having forgone the customary apprenticeship of taking on viable top 10 Welterweights, and falls flat on his face, let's all bemoan the fact that he and his management were too fixated on 'money fights' rather than development fights.

Maidana is better than Bertoe so no shame in Karras losing to Chino. Karras vs Brook would go like the first Carson Jones fight but end in a stoppage win for Karras.

    Karras is Carson Jones x10.

Berto's career is on the brink of being over though. If Brook beat Karass he would get my respect for sure.

Well no because that would not fulfil the criteria. If they tried that fans eventually get bored (Although Frank takes it to another level, he mastered it with Hatton. They use the 'next fight will be cotto/Kosta' , next fight will be Hopkins-Clev and so on). As a boxer increases in profile and level they have to increase the level of opposition he faces to keep the fans interest and entertainment. As long as the guy is seen to be above / equal it's okay. A similar UK fight to Brook Mosley that comes to mind is Khan Barrera. There were lots of other fighters who could of been the Karass of that situation and been a far better level of opposition but they go with the one that helps his career the most.

I don't lay the finger of blame at the fighters for doing this, it is the promoters and managers who are in their ear. If you ever see a fight like Brook vs Karass it is happening because either there were no other options through the others not able to agree terms, or their being nobody else, or a situation to do with mandatories or some other promoter having options. However in the buildup they will talk a load of BS saying how they consider he is the best out there and want to face him and so on.

Funny thing is that from Team Alexander's point of view having to face Brook is the situation I described above. They don't want the fight. Not because they are scared but because he brings nothing yet is a reasonable level of risk and in no way helps Alexanders career.
