Old news, Pacquiao agreed to all the demands off drug testing(Floyd never demanded this drug testing before prior to the Pac fight),and then Floyd made another unreasonable demand of getting the huge percent of money in their fight. Everybody knows Floyd avoided Pacquiao and does not really want the fight, Floyd's fans are just on denial.

Pac would probably throw a lot of punches and maybe land a few awkward shots.
I think this is a bad style for him, but we'll never find out as they didn't fight. I'm not comfortable tacking it up as a FLOYD WIN like everybody seems content to do.

Pac would still be the most competitive fight for Floyd

    Short answer:

    Nah. Probably not.

    Longer answer:

Marquez showed that a good sense of timing and punch placement can disrupt Pac's rhythym; Floyd's sense of timing and punch placement is just as good as JMM's. Plus, he's bigger, faster and better defensively than Juan.

The best version of Pac (2009) was a bit more elusive and employed a bit more lateral movement; and I honestly believe that his best approch would be to circle and employ a style based on quick ambushes and surprise counters. That might well win him a handful of rounds...but he'd have difficulty finding the mark, and once Floyd established range he'd be paying a pretty severe price on the way in.

Pac would have to fight a perfect fight...and even then, if Floyd fought one as well, he'd probably be toast.

Ah come on man Pacquiao was miles ahead of Hatton, also the pac that got KO'd by JMM isnt the one that fought Cotto not even close, Manny would have given floyd one tough night and ran he as close as anyone would, Floyd never wanted the fight for a reason, yes maybe he knew he was the favorite but unlike other opponents he knew pacquiao Could Win and had a decent Chance, thats why it never happened floyd never wanted to be in a fight that he could loose

I agree. At this time it's easy to see that Floyd beats Pac. Too many things happened in between the post-Cotto fight and of course that devastating KO from JMM to Pac that solidifies this thought.

But again, to just say that Pac had no chance whatsoever at the prime of his career is pure nuthuggery.
At one point I gave him around a 40% chance of winning, but that is IF and ONLY IF Pac will remain committed to his game plan (like vs ODLH) and not be disappointed from chasing FMJ all over the ring and Roach will teach him some good ring cutting techniques.

Floyd won't stand toe to toe against Pac like what this *****s often suggest (since the shoulder roll can't be used to its fullness). That's suicide for Floyd. Pac is no Ortiz.

except Pac isn't as good a BOXER as Zab. Zab has quicker 1 shot speed than Pac and that matters a lot when he was countering Floyd. Pac is a better FIGHTER (that's a given) but way different styles.

    on the other hand...

JMM vs Pac....we know how that goes.

Floyd only chooses fighters when he sees something he can take advantage of. He boxes boxers because he boxes better. He chooses counterpunchers because he can counterpunch better. But he knew pacquiao presented a big threat with his offensive style against his 0 so he ducked him any way possible even admitting that he's a coward on video.
Everyone in boxing knows this, only *****s have a hard time accepting the truth but they're the minority and thus irrelevant

    Of course...

That is the only reason Floyd didn't cash in on all that money.

of course not, only reason why Pac's camp walked away from the negotiations and had a fight signed with Clottey a couple of days later
