Will Mayweather go down as one of history's biggest ¨What Ifs¨?

In 30, 40 years from now, will the people of future generations talk about him as someone who was great for his time, but could have done a lot more?

as someone who had so much skills that could have become a top 10, 5, 3 ATG or maybe even the GOAT if he had the hunger and balls to match his boxing talent?

What if Vitali didn't retire for those 4 years..
what if Sal Sanchez didn't die so young...
what if Tyson had always been focused and disciplined...
what if Mayweather had more testicular fortitude...

    stuff like that

He will be known as a ducker who cherry picked opponents protecting his 0. There's too many video proof to claim otherwise. He will never be top 10 ATG as a result.

His career isn't over yet. Let's see who he decides to fight for his next 4 fights under his Showtime contract, and if he decides to fight a few more times after that which is quite possible given how dominant he looks at his age.

But I tend to side with the notion that he's one of the greatest fighters of all time, and on pure boxing skill alone, possibly one of the top 3 ever.

Nah, I'm only speaking the truth. Hard to argue that he's not a ducker. Do your research and where he's projected to be placed by more informed experts. Not in the top 10.

He will be similar to the Klitscho's in being recognised as the dominant boxer of his weight classes for this period in time but definately a lot of what if's like what if he hadn't chose to retire/hide for 2 years when better opposition appeared. His ATG status will always be subject to discussion because he has not gone out to prove his greatness beyond dispute like an ATG would

When someone is an ATG you know they are because it doesn't even need to be discussed, the volume of threads of people questioning it wouldn't exist if he were. You don't see threads such as 'Was SRR an ATG?'

the difference is the amount of money fighters earn now
increase the money, change the playing field

especially in a sport that allows its participants to have free reign over their careers, rather than have one governing federation having sole control over bouts - and one world title per weight division - because the meaning of the belts has become so watered down now that fighters like pacman and Floyd don't need them

anyone who thinks that great fighters of the past wouldn't have EXACTLY the same questions hanging over their careers as Floyd does if they were around today are absolutely dreaming

I have zero respect for him.

the hollywood bs is why ---and the bragging of his $$$

coming into the ring with talentless hollywood douchebags--- changing his nickname to money..

what a piece of fake hollywood garbage.

a FAST and quick fighter will come along that will beat that counter punching douche....and i bet $100000000 when that man comes along---PRETTY BOY will retire all of a sudden.
    Mark my words...

 dog, he's been fighting professional for 17 years over 5 different weight classes and is undefeated. You're acting like he's some unproven prospect. "Oh, I bet he's going to lose soon"
Well if he did, it wouldn't be THAT big of a shock. He's turning 37 soon
