48-47 for Gus. Alexander's takedown defense was impeccable as was his desire to win, and I think ultimately due to Guss' superior boxing acumen and reluctance to be taken down was what sold the fight for me. Not trying to take anything away from Jones, as he is a hell of a fighter, but Alex had his number tonight and I assume that will be the case in the upcoming rematch. I can't wait for these two warriors to settle this score once and for all in what will surely be another amazing bout between two very determined, superior athletes, who will give it their all to secure a victory.

 

If it was a wrestling match, Gus won as he stuffed 11 of 12 JBJ's takedowns. They each had 1 takedown.

If it was a boxing/muy thai/kickboxing/striking match, Gus easily won as he used superior footwork, cage generalship, head movement, and clean/effective strikes.

Gus probably won 22 to 24:30 of the fight.

I don't see how anyone with a straight face can say Jones was able to get 3 rounds.
