you can't teach a fighter head movement in the space of a few months, this is a flaw most Eastern Euro fighters display, it takes years to develope good head movement, Povetkin's head is almost entirely stationary in all his fights
This time the money is too big to just walk away from the fight. It's certainly the biggest fight of his career, plus it's in Moscow.
There is no buzz for this fight at all. If they tried to sell this on PPV , they'd be lucky to get more than 10 buys. The HW division needs an overhaul. Less ClinchKOs. More everybody else. The Haye Fury fight blew this out of the water and there was not even a title involved. Still looking forward though. Povetkin is going to surprise people.
The fun thing is that they still get alot of attention mainly because Wladimir is one of the greatest heavyweight to ever lace em up.
Attention is pretty big. It is everywhere. You cannot miss "The One". HBO is finally taking a step in the right direction.
Looking forward to this fight! I can't see Povetkin being very competitive for very long, but he is a good heavy and may just have a surprise for us. Still I'm backing a KO for Wladimir in round 6.
Hopefully it will be competitive. After all, Povetkin is an undefeated champ, Olympic gold medalist and one of the best in world. If a guy like that can't take it competitive against Wlad, then nobody can. I predict it to be a competitive fight, might be wrong, but let's hope to see a good fight.
His gold medal is legit, but his "champ" status isn't. As far as I can make out, he just does not have the physical tools to compete.
Well yes, it's a paper title, but still, Povetkin is not bad as people try to make him out to be. If he was, he wouldn't win the gold medal and go undefeated in the pros against solid competition. A lot of people here are trying to discredit him for whatever the reason. If that's so, then Haye never had physical tools to compete with Klitschko either. Also, Povetkin is surely not going to run around and lose every round.
I have no doubt that Povetkin unlike Haye will at least try and give his best. Povetkin may get KOed but at least he will try and win.
