It is well documented Floyd wanted no part of Antonio Margarito. When Margarito was on top of his game back in 2008 he would have given Mayweather his toughest fight to today date.

By his blatant ducking & avoiding of dangerous opponents & cherry picking the easier less dangerous ones, Floyd has seriously hurt his chance of ever being unanimously regarded as one of the greatest of all time. Floyd is one of the most naturally God Given boxing talents that I have ever seen. If only he'd received a champions heart & cojones to go with those talents he would then really be regarded as an ATG. Heck he would probably have beaten anyone they put in front of him but he chose not to risk it & to play it safe & preserve his beloved 0. That cost him Sadly he will always have that tarnished halo of a fighter that really could have been The Greatest

 

It's funny how all the Floyd nuthuggers only talk about how AM was a disgrace to boxing or that Floyd would box rings around Margo without any supporting evidence.

AM would have walked through Floyd's powder punching pitter patter like it was not there. He wanted to continue against Cotto after getting a dented eye socket from Pac and then 10 rounds of Cotto aiming for the same eye. The thing people forget is that he was starting to get to Cotto and I was thinking he was going to win the fight when they stopped it.

In 12 rounds he would have caught up with Floyd at some stage, and with his stamina, he would not have stopped. This was a risk Floyd was not willing to take, and therein lies the story of Floyd's career. He avoided fighters in their prime, particularly where they had the style to get to him. For example he did fight Cotto, but after he was ruined my Margarito.

Dude 06 was not that long ago and when Judah 1st lost to Baldomir Margarito was asked to step in as a repacement he said it was to short notice. Margarito called out May after the Baldomir fight than lost his very next fight after he called him out. Also if baldomir lucked into the title why couldn't Margarito, Margo gained the WBO Belt in 01" in that timespan prime Hoya,Mosley, Mayorga, Spinks, Judah, Hatton, Mayweather an yes even Baldomir fought for the title yet not Margo I guess you think all the top fighters at Welter between 01"-07 ducked him.
