Did Darren Barker follow Mundines blueprint?

Geale was undefeated going into the 1st Mundine fight. Mundine rocked and dropped him in the 2nd round and went on to defeat Geale thus creating a blueprint which the likes of Felix Sturm & Roman Karmazin were not able to follow.

So my question is did Mundine give barker the blueprint or did Barker simply study the 2009 Mundine Geale fight and work out the blueprint with frame by frame viewing of the beat down Mundine delivered to Geale on that faithful night in 2009 where Mundines punch's were famously compared to bullets in the night by former world champ Barry Michael?

I, like many others believe Geale won the first fight...admittedly it was extremely close but considering the closeness and the fact that Geale was actually the defending 'champion' at the time I don't think Choc did enough to take it away from him. Rule of thumb if a round is judged to be even then the defending champ is given the 10-9 split. This fight had so many rounds that were 50/50 therefore in my opinion had Geale winning the fight. The blueprint I believe to beat Geale is to counter him...sometimes with his high work rate he can be a bit sloppy and leave himself open for counters...Barker did this well. Geale still world class though and will deservedly get his shot again

This always has been a bug bear of mine, why should the challenger be disadvantaged and lose a point in that situation. A fight should be scored as fairly as possible, if it ends up a draw the champ keeps the belt anyway, so he does have a built in advantage in those situations.

Let's remember Geale was 20-0 going into the 1st Mundine fight, there was no blueprint until the great Mundine cracked the code.

Neither, prowler. mundane Mundine was irrelevant to Barkers win over Geale.
When they find a cure for cancer, Mundine will be irrelevant to that too :p

Barker beat Geale for the simple old fashioned reason that he is a better boxer than Geale.
That and the fact that he did not cave in physically this time ..his physical frailties were always his big weakness. Once he overcame these, he was always likely to beat Geale.

So I'm afraid mundane Mundine had nothing to do with it, sorry pal.
    No hard feelings! :)

It would be more accurate to describe what happened a bit differently, Dog.
Geale fluked a body shot knockdown.
Geale knew about as much about that punch as a pig knows about a holiday.
He just got lucky, that's all. If you throw a million punches, sooner or later one of em is going to have a big effect.
Hate to let the facts get I the way of a good story, but that's all there was to it.

  14. Geale bounced up from a flash knockdown in round 2 against Mundine. Barker lay writhing face down from the Geale body shot in round 6 and struggled to beat the count.
