The IBF middleweight title has been on a bum carousel since 2009

Not since Arthur Abraham held the IBF middleweight title in 2009 has the belt been held by a credible world class fighter.

Sebastian Sylvester won the vacant title he was a complete bum Daniel Geale won it off him by split decision he is a complete Bum, Darren Barker won it off him by split decision he is a bum. How much longer will the Once prestigious IBF middleweight title be on this horrific bum ride?

I'm talking about a title held by greats such as Benard Hopkins, Marvin Hagler, Roy Jones Jnr and James Toney. To now be contested by two guys like Barker & Geale who are not fit to lace these guys boots.

It needs somebody like Martinez or Golovkin to capture it to restore its credibility. The last time that title was contested between Barker and Geale was not a world title standard fight the IBF title may become as relevant as the IBO title if this carousel is not stopped.

GG is 31 and his biggest win is Macklin.

Sergio...hell...I don't see how anybody is impressed by that old fruit.

GG and Sergio are part of the problem you are complaining about.

Geale was a legit titlist. Underrated resume indeed.

Love how Americans call any non-American who has had success a "bum" without realising the fact these supposed "bums" are better than any of the Americans in the division.

Americans are pinning their Middleweight hopes on Curtis Stephens for **** sake... and even worse, their heavyweight hopes against Windmiller Wilder lol.

Prowlers main point point has merit, even if admittedly he is being a small bit naughty towards his pet hate, Geale!
There is no way Sylvester, Geale and Barker are REAL middleweight champions of the world.
Sylvester was incredibly limited, and Daniel Geale should not have got the decision over Sturm.
They would be contenders, without a doubt, but they are very lucky to live in the era of fragmented titles....otherwise we would not be talking about them.
Geale and Sylvester in particular are lucky, being very limited boxers. Luck and timing play a huge part in boxing career success.

How long will Barker try to hold the belt hostage in Europe?

That's a worthy question. I like Barker (and Geale for that matter) but neither are what you'd call elite boxers. There is some talk 'bout Barker vs Sturm, but I struggle seeing it made - Sturm doesn't really travel, and Barker oughta think twice about taking his belt to Germany.

A fighter of Barkers level who is able to get their hands on a belt oughta milk it while they can. I'd say his best bet would be a domestic with perhaps a Macklin or Lee (yes, I know he's Irish)...credible, but winnable fights, then hope he gets a a winnable mando.

It's occurred to me before that a number of fighters at MW who would have been considered pretty good just a year ago have suffered by comparison with the divisions current wrecking ball.

    BTW IBF 160lb top 10.

    http://www.ibf-usba-boxing.com/

Ain't much to shout about is there?

Probably be passed around between Soliman (still suspended?), Sturm and Geale, unless Murray can pull himself up the rankings.

Spada at 4 ffs? - the mind does indeed boggle.
