They were lots of good pro's back then.

    You haven't got a clue.

Do you think the 40's had a huge bunch of no hopers that could barely fight?

As if sparring a guy, is in anyway the same as fighting a seasoned fighter in a professional fight.

    I despair!

Instead of fighting guys, Floyd is sparring?

    WHAT THE F**K?

Floyd could easily be 128-1-2 right now? :patsch

The difference is the quality of opponents.

really? how many robinson fights have you actually watched and how many opponents have you actually watched? his best win is probably over gavilan who lost to a plodding demarco

he also refused to fight the murderers row and instead fought lamotta far too many times

first of all let me make it clear I am not saying Mayweather is a top 10 ATG because I don't have him top 15 maybe not top 20 but he has fought the best available for him other than Pacquiao. Before every fight other than Guerrero people keep saying he won't fight a certain fighter and then he goes on to dominate them. Now people are even saying he will never be an ATG because he has no power, that's just bs and ppl will never give him credit

Dude, you dont know what youre talking about. I know my history. You are missing the point. Its not that they had no hopers. Its that its not as hard to do what they did, as you think. Floyd is 45-0 with his current resume. Now instead of sparring, you think he couldnt fight his sparring partners, or Matthew Hatton, Cotto's brother, Spadafora, Mickey Ward, Kendal Holt, blah blah blah, and guys even worst then that, sprinkled in with top guys? He could do that also instead of sparring.

Floyd would easily beat a bum like Darren Barker for the IBF title

He should. Just because there is no one else that can beat him. Fight with Martinez will sell.

i agree.and think also that those guys have over 100 fights.i dare to say for floyd that's nothing more than sparring session, but in some magical way london thinks that boxers from 1900century were the only one's who can do it.

They were some good fighters in Robinson's era, who looked like bums on paper, because they had losses on their records. They weren't all bums.

Floyd spars guys in his gym.

If he had a real fight against any of those guys that you've mentioned, he'd have to prepare and have a camp. Ray was fighting once per month at one stage, and they were 10-15 round fights. Are you telling me that Floyd could fight a 15 rounder, have a two week break, then train for two weeks, before fighting another pro fight against the names you've mentioned, over and over?

Floyd living that sort of life, would lose the odd bout, just like anyone in history would have.

    Seriously, you have no perspective.

It would be physically impossible for Floyd to fight once per month against any pro in his weight class, over and over.

All you have been doing, is looking at some of Robinson's opponents, and then picturing Floyd as he his now, and thinking "That would be easy for Floyd."

You haven't taken into consideration, what sort of shape that Floyd would be in today, at 36, had he already fought over 150 times.

If Floyd fought 200 times, into his 40's, he'd lose the odd bout, against someone, who could never have touched him at his peak. Floyd couldn't clown someone every month, over and over. Nobody could.

god, the horse has been fkn DEAD for pages.
fighetrs of modern era are FAR superior to the 20's, 30's, 40's ect.. give me a fkn break..
back in the "day" they fought the same dudes over and over and over again due to lack of quality opponents.

Training camps of today are far more abusing to the body compared to MOST of the fights they had back then. just watch the tapes, we see most are fkn jokes that wouldnt be allowed in a gym today never mind in pro fights..

floyds 3 month camp is tougher than any 3 month stretch srr had in his career. CAMPS is what ages fighters more so than fights, unless we talken KD drag out wars ending in KO's.. Camps and YES sparring is way more brutal then MOST of srr fights. just look at the video evidence, his opponents for the MOST part are fkn pathetic....

of course floyd could beatup the 50-100 WW, JWW and JMW's on a monthy basis, sprinkling in a top 10 every now and then LIKE they ALL did back then
