Can you show us where anyone said that?
If you can nobody could argue with you...that person would be an idiot for sure.

You should check out a guy called Max Bursak. Then compare his record to Nick Blackwell under a few headings:
    How many amateur fights?
    How many pro fights?
    What age/experience/maturity?
What sort of tune up fights are needed to prepare for Bursak?

And finally - as if all the other advantages you are giving up to you opponent are not enough....and to absolutely positively definitely rule out any possibility of poor Nick getting a win ..you fight him in UKRAINE!

    :patsch

    This.

It annoys me that they are on the verge of moving up when they still have fat that could be lost in order to go down a division. Boxing fans talk about frames and being filled out at a weight but the fact is, if you have fat it can be lost. BJS should be fighting at 154, to me that is plainly obvious due to the fact he is carrying an unnecessary amount of bodyfat.

Would this line really have been spouted had Ryder won ? c'mon.

As for Blackwell my link wouldn't get up and running at all but read he was robbed, shame, bad side about boxing along with talented boxers not getting the proper chances because he isn't a big ticket seller/draw

    Yeah ok fair point :)..

Saw Blackwell-Bursak fight....Bursak deserved the decision.(and I am a BIG fan of Nick)...excellent performances by both..really good scrap.
All factors being equal Blackwell undoubtedly would have won. Bursaks vast advantage in experience at top level am and pro was the didfference.

( By the way Some very novel use of the elbow by Nick, doubt he would get away with it at home in UK :)!!)

My big beef is that Nick Blackwell is not being given the chance to succeed. He is doomed to lose these big fights cos he is simply relying on raw talent, guts and fitness. He is not properly prepared. He is having to learn 'on the job' and losing fights doing it. He deserves better.

Apart from his advancing years, what's so wrong with the current trainer who took Ryder to what the OP felt should have been a victory? Colin Lake is an intelligent trainer and Ryder a smart fighter.

Ryder should of done more but lack of experience may of cost him on Saturday. There was a few rounds where if he upped it he would of won.

Ryder is doing just fine and if BJS is getting to world level then Ryder sure as **** wont be far behind him.

The fight was a draw and he deserves a rematch

he's had the same trainer since he was at school, it would be perfectly natural at his age to learn new things from new people so he can progress, that applies to any walk of life or profession...............just not to a ******ed boxing forum apparently.

I would ask if you would have made the same claim had he won but you'll lie and say yes of course then this will result in me calling you a liar and we will get nowhere fast so best to just skip that part.

People on here are very impressed with Ryder.
I don't think he looks all that great.
I felt BJS has let himself go since the Spike O Sullivan fight. I'm not sure BJS has what it takes to keep up the hard grind of daily training fight after fight and I think Ryder looked better than he is because of this.
Ryder previously beat Eamonn O'Kane but O Kane took that fight at a weeks notice, and on top of that when he got in the ring, O Kane fought completely the wrong fight against Ryder.

Ryder is ok but he has faults and limitations and it is a bit soon to get too excited about him.
Right now I feel nick Blackwell is a better prospect...but he doesn't seem to be getting half the attention that Ryder gets.

couldn't agree more nick blackwell seems to be thrown to the wolves but to his credit he just gets on with it it seems some fighters get to looked after and some don't get looked after at all

    Wouldn't surprise me that.

I met him in Mcdonalds at about midnight after the Clev/Krasniqi bill.. BJS had been doing a bit of TV work for boxnation that night.

Came across as a sound lad though.
