I'm a Matthyssé fan and I predicted he'd win by late stoppage but let's not pretend he deserved anything but an L here. There's been no talk about the scoring of this fight because it was clear that Garcia won.

Quite possibly, but regardless of the specific cause of the eye damage, my main point is that the difference in the scores was small. The small difference in scoring can EASILY be accounted for Matthysse fighting half the fight with one eye. The scale of the advantage conveyed to a boxer by his opponent fighting half the fight with one eye cannot be underestimated. If you dont believe me, cover one eye and get someone to punch you from that side....you will quickly see my point. A different result in a rematch cannot be ruled out at all.:good

only different result would be the obvious beatdown TKO swift would lay in a 2nd fight. there is ZERO to suggest lucas would/could win a rematch. swift can take what lucas has to dish but lucas cannot take what swift can dish. Well then you have nothing to worry about! On with the rematch! There seems to be a really resentful attitude from some people towards the idea of a rematch. Why are you guys boxing fans if not to enjoy top fights? For the record I was well impressed with Garcia....he boxed much better than I expected. I give him nothing but credit. Shame about some of his fans...real half wits...:-(
