If Leapai catches ANY fighter clean, if they're not flat on the canvas for the count they'd only be a stiff breeze away from it. And if he does pull this off imagine the money he'd get for a rematch!

I seriously wonder if aussie boxing fans are the worst in the world. When their fighters aren't fighting the elite they shame them for record padding or lacking in ticker but then when they step up to fight the best out there they still show no respect.

It's like a fighter has to reach the same heights that Tszyu and Darchinian did to gain approval

i noticed abraham still doesnt have an opponent for the main event. theyre saying a tune up fight for a third fight with steiglitz in early '14...

big venue though. holds 7,300 for boxing. this is proper crunch time now for alex and noel..a win here and theyre wlads mandatory! (or povetkin should povetkin upset wlad on the 5th oct)..everything alex and noel have ever done basically comes down to this opportunity.

all the best to both of them.

stiffles, the bitter tart francis and co. r un-Australian the way they bash our fighters.
if they don't step up, they say they r bums, if they do, they say they r **** and will get beaten easily.

ill be honest, im not an aussie (pom) but ive notcied tall poppy syndrome is a MASSIVE problem in this country. the fans really need to get behind their fighters more when travelling overseas to fight in hard match ups

Adam , I keep abreast of Aussie boxing on a regular basis because even though Australia is geographically challenged they have always produced capable fighters down the years , however what with Mundine , Green & co spewing their **** and hood winking people for the best part of their careers I can certainly understand your average Joe Aussie boxing fans opinion when their fighters run , duck and hide from genuine top level fights , in Alex's case i can also understand the frustration his fans have felt over the last 18 months because I'm one of them .

Let's not kid ourselves here, Alex will need a KO within the first 3rds..... Nevertheless well done getting this fight as he won't die wondering what could have been when he eventually retires

Boytsov injured again; off October 26 card

WBO #1 heavyweight Denis Boytsov (33-0, 26 KOs) injured a knee on Tuesday and will be out for three weeks before he can resume training. “This is obviously very unhappy,” said Sauerland managing director Chris Meyer. “Actually Denis Boytsov should have boxed in Oldenburg on October 26. The boxing fans now have to wait a little longer to finally see him in action again. Exactly when this will be the case, however, is not yet at this time foreseeable.”
