I've known Tony for years since he beat Buck Smith in Ft Worth Tx Ive followed the pantomime from day one when Nazim Richardson lied his ass off & the CSAC acted like the friggin Keystone Kops.

BTW I NEVER EVER said Canelo would beat Floyd. What I did say was that it would be good for boxing if Canelo performed a miracle. I also stated that in my opinion Canelo would never get a fair shake in Vegas.
So please stop the lies and fantasies & try to learn a little about boxing

OK you say that but now explain why the doc didn't stop the fight sooner ?? Why did he wait till Cotto started to wilt again & Tony was beating his chest at him??? The robbery was blatant

Mayweather may very well have outboxed Margarito, easily or not, we'll never find out.

Got to take into account however that Margarito was walking through Cotto's punches to give his own. Cotto is a heavier puncher at 147 lbs than Mayweather is.

Cotto was busy those first 6 rounds +, and a good reason was the pressure Margarito was applying forced Cotto to have to punch to gain respect.
Would that pressuer have the same effect on Mayweather?
Arms, shoulders, elbows, chest, you name it, Margarito was going to punch at it, thats not something most fighters do. Those shots on the arms have an effect over the long haul of a fight.

How was Mayweather going to stop Margarito's foward aggression?
Power? Mosley used power and speed.
Dont think Mayweather has that type of power, especially with the pillows he likes to use as gloves.

Blurrs of combinations? Pacquiao used that. Only Mayweather punches in one's and two's.......

Pacquiao used a high workrate and I think had his wraps loaded to boot.
Mayweather does'nt fight at that pace, and I think he'd have to up his workrate vs a charging Margarito to get respect.

Having said all that, I'd lean toward Mayweathe to somehow find the way, but I'd just would have loved to have seen it for myself.
Damn shame Mayweather did'nt take up the challenge.

they always let it go on a little further then it should... i was so happy because i won 220 bucks off that fight :). it was not a robbery ... cotto had a very convincing lead on the cards and was not any where near as hurt or gassed as he was in the first fight.. and that eye was in no condition to be fighting on.. if you think it was i highly advise you stick to being a garbage man and never delve into the medical profession....

face facts, margarito never did enough to even ******t a fight with floyd... it aient like bradley ducking the other top contender khan and just WAITING for the pac fight to land in his lap... floyd fought the champion for the same money but captured the lineal title... say what you want about baldomirs career, he was more deserving of a shot then margarito.. and frankly floyd facing mosley after HE DESTROYED the "boogyman" that is margarito showed me floyd is a champion

mayweather has never looked uncomfortable in the ring.. even when he was rocked badly by mosley less then 15 seconds later he was composed and continued on his way. margarito poses no real threat to floyd

he does not possess one punch knockout power

he is no where near accurate enough to consistently land on floyd (and really.. who is?)

he is not fast in anyway shape or form

his relentless pressure is completely negated by floyds RING IQ, speed , footwork and defense... owe and lets just say he bullies him into the corner like victor ortiz did floyds gonna either 1. laugh at his shots while blocking them or his going to do what any composed smart fighter knows how to do, TIE YOUR MAN UP..

it would be like the baldomir fight i can gaurentee you that!

forget his high punch output, floyd naturally has lowered all of his opponents outputs ... guerreros was cut in half i remember...

atleast when people say pacquiao could have beaten floyd they raise interesting points like pacquiaos speed, wierd angles and blistering combinations but margarito? your ****ing reaching for the stars.... if he was the monster you made him out to be he would have earnt his shot

Actually Don should never have got in the ring with Honeyghan He'd missed weeks of training cause he had the flu Both Dave Gorman & Don's trainer Paul Reyes wanted him to pull out. The promoters insisted he fought. A 100% Curry would have beaten Honeyghan easy

Ok maybe you'll answer what the others ducked.. Tony fought with one good eye for 80% of the fight Why did that doc wait till Tony was beating his chest & Cotto was wilting??? He stopped it to save Cotto.

Watch those videos Floyd was scared shitless of Margarito. Look at his antics in the second video REALLY the fighter you idolize ?? What a prima donna cry baby

he was beating cotto in the end? i thought he was doing better in the later moments then the earlier rounds but from what i recall cotto never really looked to out of control ?... maybe ill have to go watch the fight again, i certainly dont think he would have stopped cotto and from what i recall on these forums after the fight everyone seemed pretty happy with the decision

you can say floyd is scared of marg but it really holds no argument.... if marg had beaten mosley floyd would have fought him look at margaritos resume after he got the title... and people say floyd ducks fighters ?

i can say im the best boxer if i faced floyd now id beat him... im 0 wins 0 losses.... technically undefeated there is no blueprint ...

honestly people bash floyd for fighting baldomir but he was the champion and won his title legit, if floyd had not fought him he would have been crucified for it and youd make the same threads about baldomir that you do about margarito

Mayweather deals with Margarito's 'pressure' and 'forward aggression' the same way Joshua Clottey did in rounds 3 and 4 of their fight. Here's the link:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqhHpvL461c

Look at how many slow, looping shots Clottey easily avoids by simply stepping or leaning backwards out of range. Look at the how Clottey is able to leap in with hard right hands (1:56 and 1:01 mark of Round 3) after he avoids those shots. Look at how many punches Clottey blocks with his high guard defense. Look at Clottey tie up Margarito when he needs to.

What makes you think Mayweather couldn't fight at the distance you see Clottey fighting at in that clip? What makes you think Mayweather can't use a combination of Clottey's high guard defense, Philly shell, foot movement and sporadic, explosive counters all night long?

Margarito made a hurt handed Joshua Clottey look like the captain of Team Slick Black. Hell, Cotto showed in the 2nd fight that simply boxing and selectively tying up Margarito is enough to carry 8-9 rounds. He made Pac look like Sweet Pea.

Now you believe he's going to consistently hit the smartest and best defensive talent of his era with that wild, slow isht? He's going to wear down the most well conditioned boxer in the game with slow pressure? Please.

Mawyeather knocks the grease off of Margarito. Wide UD in a skills clinic.

Margarito couldn't even beat a past it Shane. The plaster that he used to stop Cotto was caught and taken in the Shane fight and looked at what happened.

Floyd ducked Margarito. He was a bad style for Floyd, styles make fights.

Mosley was clearly juiced out of his mind in that Margarito fight.

Floyd beat both Shane and Marquez's ass. He didn't just beat them, he walked over them. But Pac and Margarito beat Floyd, lmao. Hold on to that video. On the orders of Arum, Margarito asked for a fight. Why didn't the pu$$y just smack Floyd in public. Barrera did that to Morales, lmao. Margarito is and always was a pu$$y.
