I would have much rather seen Roy with Steward.:yep

Roy Sr, was a ***** from what I know, which is weird why he was so over protective, he pretty much used to beat Roy to make him tough.

I have no doubt that Roy was trying to maximize his career earnings as much as he could without taking huge risks all the time.. He got comfortable with his HBO deal no doubt.

Roy's "Beyond the glory" documentary on Fox Sports was one of the best i have seen. His dad putting nails in boards to teach him headmovement and tying one arm behind his back and he was doing this when Roy was just a kid :patsch

That is what made him a prodigy though the crazy and insane methods worked. Reminds me of an article I read about Kostya Tszyu and Vasilly Jirov and the insane and inhumane **** they went through like being in a hallway with a door at the end and having a rabid German Shepherd chase them and they had to open the door to get away before they were mauled or being taken out in the middle of a lake and then thrown in the water and told to swim to shore :rofl:patsch

    It worked though.

No doubt Roy's dad wanted to live through him in some way. But like you said he may never have been the man he would've without those methods.

You think that Manny would have gotten Roy into some of the big fights that we didn't see?

So Roy wasn't the serial ducker that you like to portray then? :good

"savage puncher" lol what a ****.

A guy who is a small sized SM fightng and taking a few flush shots from a 226 pound HW, let alone Toney, Hopkins, Sosa etc.

    "savage puncher"

Jones is exposed as a cheat, there is no comparison here imo. I was excited about every fight of Jones until he was busted. Then I felt being cheated myself for cheering for Roy all those years. If he was caught cheating on the Olympics, all of his achievements would have been taken away from him. He's a Lens Armstrong of boxing.

There can never be a comparison.

Ruiz had ZERO power and his record reflects that. Hopkins was not close to being a puncher even in his Prime.

To suggest that Ruiz, Hopkins, or Toney were savage punchers is laughable.

Can you comprehend the idea of size difference between Ruiz and Jones? Jones was a small LHW who moved up to fight a legit HW and took some flush shots on the chin. He was stunned once but quickly recovered. Any glass jawed fraud would've been put to sleep in that scenario. Get over it. His chin only became suspect after his KO loss to Tarver but before that, it was solid. You don't go 50-0 and fight who he has fought and not get hit hard.

Jones was 199 pounds. You act like he weighed 168 for the Ruiz fight. Ruiz was feather fisted. Period. Along with having ZERO skills and the referee taking away his only chance of doing anything in the fight :rofl

I simply asked how the fighter Roy is compared to all time like SRR, Ali, SRL, etc managed to fight multiple savage punchers in their career and Roy didn't even fight one. And it wasn't because one wasn't available. His career was very carefully and cautiously crafted.

I'm not acting like nothing. Fact is, Jones was a small LHW and had to hire Shilestone to go up to HW the right way. He was 199 lbs of pure muscle.

As for all your other crap, i'll just leave you as a Jones hater.

What do steroids have to do with who looked more unbeatable? Juiced to the gills or not, Roy looked more unbeatable than Floyd. And we don't have enough evidence against Roy to wipe away achievements.

    God your a dumbass.
Hopkins was a known pucher when he fought Jones, you know nothing.

Ruiz dropped Kirk Johnson, Evander and numerous other medium sized HW's, Jones has the body of a MW.
'EVEN' a light punching HW can easily ko a MW/SM.

Get tha **** outa here with your ****.
