Some background on Josh from a piece I did last year - http://www.hattonboxing.com/tv/features/2012/10/amateur-focus-josh-leather
Henry Thomas is special aswell. I hear he was turning pro with anthony farnell but then nothing seem to have come of it
I here this all of the time, it's rubbish to be honest. Henry Thomas turned up out of shape and he was winning the fight until he gassed in my opinion. Josh Leather is a great kid and won the 2012 ABA's, he has a lot of ability and could potentially win a British title but watch out for Josh Kelly, this year's ABA champion. Anyone will tell you he is the most talented out of the current up and coming fighters in the North East.
My mate beat Josh Leather a few years ago. Leather is a good kid, to come from being a half and half journeyman all the way to an ABA champion through sheer dedication but I think some people are getting carried away. Time will tell but he is a talented kid.
He had a lot more losses than that as an amateur. Nothing wrong with that though. If you box the top seniors in the country when you are 17/18, you will get beat by the more mature, more experienced lads.
