Joe fought in the UK because that's where the Supermiddle division was thriving. the most money was to be had there. plus, he was the best.
do you say that for most of the Americans who never leave home? or is that just reserved for non Americans?

you probably didn't know who they were based on Americans being famous for being ignorant.
Calzaghe did face some bums, but who doesn't when they reign for that long?

    Larry Homes
    Muhammad Ali
    Joe Louis
    Roy Jones
    Bernard Hopkins etc etc...

    it wasn't just Joe.

WRONG! Hopkins and Jones were the ones who turned Calzaghe down. but you can continue with you delusion and ignorance like the others if you wish. you've been told this umpteen times before, and still you continue with that lie. it's just pointless if you continue not to listen.

when did Hopkins knock people out with proven chins such as Joe's? it was the timing of the shot that dropped Joe, not the power.

and the last thing to go for a fighter is power. so why didn't Jones use his power to stop Joe then?

Joe was passed his best by a few years at that point also.

do you see it like that across the board then? when fighters get dropped?

i wonder how much of a joke you see Joe Louis to be then. he got dropped and badly rocked against a total bum in Golento. do you see every Heavyweight in history crushing Louis? or do you skip over things like that considering he's American? :patsch

if it's so bad getting dropped by Hopkins and Jones, tell me what you think about these guys after getting dropped by their opponents...

    Holyfield against Cooper?
    Foreman against Young?
    Ali against Cooper, Frazier.
    Frazier against Bonavena.
    Hopkins against Mercado.
    Jones against Tarver, Johnson, Devalle.

you must think very lowly of these guys after they got dropped by much lower opposition? right?

i look forward to your reply. ;)

Calzaghe & Ottke were both undefeated champs from the same era, neither would agree to leave their backyard to fight the other, instead just made joke defences on their terms, disgraceful.

I appreciate the fact that Slappy White has stopped hanging out at the Boxing Senior citizens home for future opponents, hung up his gloves and living the coke life in London.

His wins over Sakio Bika and Robin Reid are worth more than his wins over Jeff Lacy and Roy Jones.

Actually, he isn't American. He's Welsh. A Welsh killer.

But I suppose you meant he was an American-killer.:deal

If you think Reid beat Calzaghe, then you need to drag your sack across a field of broken glass. That's a clear 7-5 decision. Ottke was a ***** though, he lost.

The greatest thing about Joe is that his fans don't have to say the word prime before mentioning his name, no excuse necessary, none of this prime Roy or prime Hopkins crap.

:yep agree ! He beat 2 of the greatest american ATGs in Hopkins and RJJ in their home country i.e America and he retired undefeated. Simply amazing. Probably if Mr. Zaghe were a black boxer from NY or Philadelphia , he would've been ranked above SRL or SRR in terms of all time greatness. :good
