Both fighters held titles at Light Middleweight.

Duran will be the obvious and popular choice, and not to say that I would disagree, but I do think Canelo should get some love/consideration here...

I'd really have to re-watch much of Duran's 154 stint to give an answer if I had a gun to my head.

Duran and especially above welter only had real sucess against fighters that would come at him. Canelo is'nt one of those and he has the natural size and reach advantage.

The current Canelo I'd say a motivated Duran, the one that stopped Moorer, would eek out a decision against Canelo.

A Canelo with a little bit more seasoning yet to come might be a different story.
To much experience and know how by Duran that I give him the edge.

Duran is a top 10 of all time. This would not end well for Xanelo. Duran @152 beats Mayweather too

The Duran that beat Moore would also beat Canelo.

Canelo is a limited very hyped fighter. He's not the type that beats ATG's.

    Duran would pulverize him.

Duran was in his 30's before he fought at middleweight. Canelo is 23 now and fighting at light middleweight so lets say Duran in his 20's and they fight at 147, welterweight. When Roberto was 29 he won the belt from Leonard after beating former champ Carlos Palomino in 1979. His record was then 72-1. If he fought Canelo next he would be 73-1.

Duran wins easy. It is too early to compare Canelo to an ATG who fought in five different decades. IMHO

I honestly don't know how anyone can watch the Moore fight, which I just finished watching, and think Canelo would have any kind of a chance, that was a brutal beat down.

Maybe top 20,a guy with that many losses does not belong in the top ten,not only lost to all the champions of his time but to lesser champions..
