It doesn't happen very soon, Stevenson looked very uneasy when asked about him.
I'd still favour Kovalev to KO him, one can't simply do worse than Cloud tonight.

Stevenson seemed pretty apprehensive when asked about fighting kovalev, saying he needs to fight more champions before he deserves a shot. I see stevensons mindset behind that comment as he beat the ring champ + an ex champ, but kovalev has the WBO + beating campillo (who beat cloud if it weren't for the judges). Easily the 1 and 2 in the division and both very good underrated boxing ability. Personally see kovalev being too smart for Stevenson and possibly stopping him. Great fight though that could go either way.

They both have 2 wins over 2 champs. Go ahead and fight. Say what you want about him but Chad wouldn't have bitched about fighting Kovalev

Hard to say. Right now I'd have to say that Stevenson has better boxing skills than I'd previously given credit for. If he can continue to add wrinkles on his game he can be very effective shooting the straight left up the middle. His right hands to the body are also deadly.

But on the other hand its important not to overestimate his slickness. After all Cloud looked woeful. If Kovalev can take the lead and back Stevenson up, he can stop him in a hurry.

im a huge stevenson fan...and kovalev is the only fight that i give the upper hand to someone other than stevenson at 175...

i mean, stevenson could nail kovy with some huge hits, but the thing is kovalev fights with short inside pumches in bunches..and that is where stevenson gets caught..his weakness is close on the inside game, stevenson needs distance to gain his power and he is too open to take shots on the inside..

in this one i give a 60/40 for kovalev

I heard Stevenson got very nervous when Kellerman mentioned Kovalev.

lol yep..he was caught off gaurd...stevenson and his teams game plan is to at least milk the belt for some $ and have maybe 2-3 fights where stevenson will cash in before possible giving it away...

put it this way...stevenson has already called out hopkins in the past and never heard him mention kovalevs name before...his team and him know that that is the most competitive fight at 175 and there is a real chance of him loosing

Stevenson was quicker than I expected with the jab and lead left. But, his balance is horrible. Kolavev is tough and punches with authority, but who knows if he can take the power shots. Right now I think Kolavev stops him, as Adonis does not have good D and cannot fight backing up.

    Not a chance of a war.:nono:nono:nono

Stevenson was deathly afraid of getting into punching range of a limited Cloud.

KOvalev cuts off the ring. Stevenson would be on the back foot grappling every time KOvalev got into range. KOvalev would break a clinche and KHTFO ass soon as he got the distance.:deal:deal:deal

...........and that's exactly what he'd do from the 1st round on.
Cloud had cement feet, but when he did push AS back with the double
jab he didn't follow up. Kovalev is a guy who steps with you and
fires off with both hands. Stevenson would be stopped for sure.
No way does this canadian beat the russian.
