what a joke when did any of mayweathers recent opponents truly deserve a shot...

from his perspective its a big pay day and an easy nights work...trust me he will take the fight 100%. Whether its right or not is a different matter

Pac as accomplished as he is still a blown up bantamweight. JMM has 1 win over a natural welter in Senchenko and looked like crap in that borefest.
and big deal that JMM finally ko'd him after 4 fights and gave pac his 4th or 5th loss
    :happy

A question I don't see asked a lot is why would Floyd see Khan an appropriate opponent? He has been knocked out twice, and lost 3 times, including just over a year ago. People want to think Floyd is stupid, but I think he even thinks it will be hard to sell a fight with a guy who's been starched, and relatively recently.

Of course, I can see the UK money aspect of it, which may just be enough for Floyd to do it. But Floyd has made fun or guys records before leading up to a fight, and in reality that doesn't help the promotion. Why would he fight Khan, when the guy who knocked him out, Garcia, is coming off a signature win?

Call me crazy, but I just don't see a casual fan caring for this fight like they did the Canelo fight. Floyd surely realizes this.

PBF didn't reject khan... false advertisement.

The fact that Goldenboy is already working an agreeement with Khan, lets you know that it will happen.

Floyd would ideally like to fight in the UK to reward his fight fans in the UK d HR needs a credible dance partner like Hatton was. Unfortunately at this moment neither Khan or Brook ft the bill.

    "an appropriate opponent?"

The only appropriate opponent for Floyd is Pacquiao - then retire.

Otherwise they are all pointless and he might as well retire or make fights which makes him $$$.

    Ortiz was a **** opponent
    Guerrero was a **** opponent
Canelo was a decent opponent but was always going to get decisioned
Cotto was a respectable opponent - Floyd didn't want any of 147 2009/2010 Cotto though.

Khan? **** - makes money and might be 'interesting' if Khan manages to bring his best fight. Also Floyd might do it for his UK fans knows it will sell.
    Alexander? ****
    Maidana, Garcia, Matthysse? ****
Bradley? - Maybe if he does very well against Marquez... won't happen though with Bob.

I agree and this instance Khan may fit the bill, if he's really about rewarding his fans around the world.

Everyone who knows how Floyd thinks knew he wouldn't get in the ring with a punk like this

The big question now is who in the next 3-4 months will emerge as the likely opponent.

It becomes credible if Khan beats Alexander. And like you said, the UK money factor can't be ignored.
