Joe show-boated because Roy had started to do it first you idiot. go back and watch the fight again.

fighters no where near the level of Joe didn't get embarrassed by a prime Roy, so you keep telling yourself that. it's easy to look great against the caliber of opposition that Roy was fighting all the time. :yep

Roy had plenty of respect for Calzaghe. why else did he duck the fight for easier competition? :hi:

you do know that Hopkins wasn't the fighter he would later become at this point, don't you?

he was a solid fighter that had no where near the experience of Roy going into the fight. it was an easy one to pick.

i mean, ****, Mercado beat Hopkins not long after that as well.

Did you also find it shameful when Jones Jr. did the EXACT same thing to Pazienza and some of the police officers and bartenders he fought?:rofl

Easy one to pick ? gtfo Roy was what 21-0 and Hopkins was what 22-1 ..Jones was ranked #2 at middle by the IBF and Hopkins # 1 !

You obviously never saw the fight. And it was a draw, BTW.

A post where you are going to tell me Roy talked to so and so about a fight which happened about 15 times but it was the 15 different fighters fault the fight didn't come off? Nah, we don't need to hear that delusional fanboy stuff again. I mean Lennox Lewis retired rather than fight Glass Jaw Roy Jones right?:rofl:patsch

He was 35, in his fifth weight class, and he'd been to HW and back, with 50 fights on his resume.

Why couldn't Tarver solve the puzzle in Nov 03, when Roy was running on fumes for the last three rounds??

Joe stayed at home and clung onto his WBO belt, like a drowning man, clinging to a life raft.

Why don't you tell us how Joe tried to get Roy in the ring?

How many times do you need educating on this subject?

Joe was a nobody on the world stage in 2002.

    That's a fact.

The U.S. fans and media, had only seen him a handful of times, against the likes of Starie, Thornberry and McIntyre. He hadn't really impressed.

Roy faced John Ruiz at HW, instead of Joe, and if that had've fallen through, he would have fought Tarver instead.

So you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

When Roy had signed to fight Ruiz, Joe was fighting Tocker Pudwell.

If Joe had've wanted Roy that bad, the first thing he'd have done, was to fight in the SAME weight class as Roy.

Roy was the best fighter on the planet.

Joe was an unknown, European, 168 fighter, with a belt that wasn't worth a packet of crisps. :good
