Of course fans don't want that fight.
The only people I see here wanting that are Khan fans or trolls (possibly both).

Too easy a fight for Floyd.

For comedy's sake I'd love to see this fight, though Khan doesn't deserve the payday nor the attention this type of fight will bring.

I hope floyd thinks like that.and why the hell floyd have to go UK? if i was at floyd shoes, definetly would say to khan or whoever that come to vegas.

Why floyd who is P4P 1 and richest boxer in history have to fight with opponents terms?
Floyd is everybody's meal ticket.i think floyd is the restaurant owner and guerrero, alvarez, khan, garcia etc.. Are the customers.

With Khan trying to talk himself into a Mayweather fight without doing anything in the ring, it got me thinking. How far do we have to go back to find a Floyd opponent this bad? For me its way back to Mitchell.

Lets put aside how useless Khan is in the ring and look at the major problem with the fight - Khan hasn't beaten a top 10 fighter in 2 years since Zab Judah, a lesser problem is that he has never fought at the weight, nor is he undisputed the champ at the way below (for from it)

I think it has been at least 7 years.

Guerrero. Guy was a lightweight. Mouthed off similar to Khan. But unlike Khan he moved up to 147. Defeated Selkuk, followed by an amazing fight against Berto. Tho he didn't do S when it came to his floyd fight and a was ultimately a poor opponent, however before he proved himself one of the leading guys at 147, so earned the shot.

Ortiz - beat the undefeated Berto months prior to his fight and took the 147 WBC belt. 5 months earlier beat Lamont peterson. He earned it. Nobody complained at the time. Especially considering Floyd been out the ring for a long.

Hatton - undefeated, certainly earned the fight. He was the king at 140 at that time.

Marquez - King at 135. That aside It's f'in marquez, guy already proved himself to be worthy of a ring with Floyd. Same goes for mosley.

So I would probably say it's been 8 years. Shamba Mitchell. But back then Floyd wasn't the Floyd of today getting 40 million a fight so maybe Mitchell is more deserving the Khan was

Great post, this is why I am just about sure this fight will not happen. khan is not in the same class as other foyd opponents.
Also how can you pass up Garcia who just looked very good against the most dangerous guy at 140 to fight the bum that got KO by Garcia.?

Khan does not have a hope against Mayweather.

As for Joe Calzaghe and his record he may have been a good boxer and has an unbeaten record but the average person outside the UK has no idea who he is or even if they do they wouldn't be able to remember or recall anything special he did in the ring. None of his fights were classics.

If I went into my work and said the name Joe Calzaghe, out of 50 people I doubt one would know who he is. About 15-20 would know who Floyd Mayweather is.
Sorry but people outside of the UK don't really care about Calzaghe and do not have any fond memories of any of his fights. Just like you probably feel about Sven Ottke (another unbeaten fighter), but in all fairness Joe didn't have Judges and refs cheat for him like Ottke.
Joe was a good boxer but just did not fight the best in their prime and never became a well known or loved fighter outside of the UK.

Khan vs. Mayweather would be so one-sided it would make the US army vs. Brit army look competitive.

You can definitely argue that Guerrero earned the fight more than Khan but I can't say he's better.

If Floyd-Khan happens, Amir will give him more problems than Guerrero did, for however long it lasts.

Sharba Mitchell even at that late stage in his career would probably still have beaten Khan.

I have no problem with FMJ vs Khan.

    1. FMJ has just had a fight against a younger bigger quality opponent. He made it look easy though. He has earnt an easy fight.

    2. FMJ needs a knockout to sell future fights.

    3. Khan needs to be smashed as he is a spoilt punk.

I can't believe it but if this fight comes off I will be cheering on Mayweather!

god this is a **** fight. khan has done nothing to earn it. he got knocked out by a guy who won an entertaining fight on the undercard of floyd's last fight. that guy coincidentally beat a guy who also beat someone who beat khan.

not even floyd could promote this to the american public. it won't sell and floyd will hear boos as he carries this no hoper for 6 rounds before sending him back across the pond.

let khan at least beat garcia before he gets his shot. i mean, he won't beat garcia but at least try
