Well there is a mafia operating in Russia and it's border Countries but they're certainly not Russian. That would be the same as calling the American based Italian mafia 'The American Mafia' see what I mean?
I just can't see a man who struggled badly with Marco Huck having any real success against a superb specimen like Wladimir. I agree CHEF. Povetkin is made for Wlad. :smoke

What makes people think Wlad would not struggle with Gerry Weber? Povetkin has a chin. Wlad doesn't. A come forward brawler with good power like Gerry would cause Wlad all sorts of problems. Wlad also throws straight shots , easier to time and counter and doesn't swing like a street fighter.
Agree w/most here. Based on comps and Pov struggling w/Huck, I have a hard time seeing this as very competitive. Unless Wlad starts getting old over night - or some cheating in Moscow - most likely late T/KO for the Ukrainian.
Dino, how many savage punchers has Povetkin fought? :think I know he doesn't have a Glass Jaw but Povetkin's Chin has not really been tested/proven. Wlad is a savage puncher with the right hand and left hook.
Huck hits hard. Chagaev went 7 rounds lunging into Wlads right hand as he threw it. Double impact and he kept coming. Povetkin is better in footwork and working his way inside. He wont be lunging into any right hands but may eat a few. 7 rounds is more than enough time to wear down Wlad with body shots. Wlad can't take it to the body or head. People forget that.
Well I haven't read the entire thread but I can guess that some post where like this "Wladimir has lost to fighters like corrie sanders, ross purity and lamon brewster whom are lesser fighters then Povetkin". Still the fact of the matter is that Wladimir has improved immensely since then and he's style has changed alot. He is a way more defensive fighter but still packs the same ammount of power. Povetkin however is a good inside fighter and with the improvement he made (especially under the teddy atlas "rule) I think he will be his second biggest threat. The headmovement and his inside fighting will be alot for Wladimir to handle and I'll be really impressed if he acually KO's povetkin. I'm going for a Wladmir KO by the 5'th round.
I'd say points victory, narrow, given Wlad is slowing considerably. The ref will let him turn it into a wrestling match so that Pov wont really have a chance.
I have not seen Povetkin before, but I took a fast look at the fight against Rahman and he seems to be very ordinary, I can´t really think this would be a threat against boring Wlad. i am sorry to say. WE need someone with grat headmovement who can move inside and throw hard combinations, that would kill Klitschko. But there is no Tyson around today
Huck is a Cruiserweight. If Wlad fought him you would be telling us what a disgrace it is etc. I don't think Povetkin has proved his Chin yet. I do expect him to give Wlad a fight for the first 3 or 4 rounds until his face is turned into a mess. Povetkin is a tough guy no doubt and he will not allow Wlad to just walk right through him. Hopefully we get a good exciting fight Saturday afternoon. :good
