Povetkin was knocked down 4 times, only hit Wlad clean a handful of times, and by the end of the night he looked like he went face first through a wall
Povetkin was undefeated and had never been knocked down before. Don't see any credit given to Wlad on this thread for scoring his jab at will (with the force of a power punch) mutating his jabs into hooks that were battering Povetkin's face. Talk about "Waldo is so powerful" I'll tell you what, I have noticed how easily he can throw down a fighter like Povetkin or Haye with one arm like a rag doll :scaredas: Seriously strong. Continue to ignore that effectiveness of Wlad's power punch jabs and defensive led blanket technique (as Lennox used) as he continues his reign of dominance into a second decade and enjoy eating your crow and sour grapes. +1. They should ignore his excellent defensive footwork, as well. Probably the most underrated aspect of his game.
Wouldnt have a problem if he was using his strength to dominate a fighter.. but when you hit or in a lot of instances dont hit and lean on an opponent to tire them at every come together then its little more than cheating. As I said before we get served up this dross because people are happy to pay for it. I will gladly **** in a bag and sell you it via ebay because you dont seem to mind paying for it. Im a boxing fan.. I aint a fan of either fighter out there tonight.
I'm with you in that regard- but like Hopkins and Ward, if the ref's not going to intervene, there's no incentive for the fighter to change. He could've still shut out Povetkin without the bullying, but I think he's had a personal vendetta against AP for pulling out before and wanted to prove a point. I would've preferred he fight cleaner because there were good things he did that got overshadowed by the clinching and leaning. I also would've preferred he not let off the gas in the final rounds of the fight, but that seemed like an act of mercy to let Povetkin finish more than anything else.

How did you watching HW boxing in the 90s. U do know that the hugfest was far more back then. Every big fight seemed to consist of nothing but holding and hitting for 12 rds.:-(
