thiswas exactly how fury beat cunningham. well, except that he was getting schooled until cunningham wore down from fury laying on him.
Klitschko KO2 Chisora. What has Chisora done besides get KO'd by Haye and lose a lopsided decision to Vitali.
Delboy get's KO'd in 6 or less. 9 if he shows in great shape. Wlad hits harder and more accurate this his brother.
Ok he grabs, clinches but you forget all the time that he does that often after getting his jabs and right hands in and those punches from Klitschko, they might not look devastating but the message they send to his opponents? "thank god he wants to clinch now and not throw that jab".
Imagine if someone doesnt allow for clinches, what is going to happen? He will only force Wladimir to throw jabs and right hands and will either get knocked out or follow everyone else and allow for clinches because the clinches dont hurt as much as those jabs and right hands.
Style wise I do think he does match up well with Wlad. He cut's off the ring very well, slips the jab nicely, he's strong enough not to be completely dominated on the inside when clinched, as he showed against Vitali and can put pressure on Wlad. But I don't think he has enough power to get the job done. When Wlad has been hurt it's been in against better punchers than Chisora and for all Chisora's pressure it won't be enough to win on points. Also previously he has never had the work rate to make the best of his style. But with his recent drop in weight and rise in work rate I'm not sure if he will retain enough strength to not be manhandled by Clinchko. He needs to drop enough weight to work enough to tire Wlad out while retaining enough size and strength to match Wlad for strength. I think Chisora would at least give us an entertaining build up and fight. I hope he keeps on winning to force a fight with Wlad as we might actually get an entertaining heavyweight title fight for once.
Chisora is a decent journeyman. Wlad's starting to look over-the-hill but it would be unlikely he'd lose to such a mediocre fighter.
That's no longer a pre-requisite for the fighting the champion any more at least not in this era. Who did Pianeta, Wach or Mormeck beat who was ranked to earn a shot at Wlad? Hate to say it but in this era Chisora beating a prospect in Scott and winning the European title against Gerber is better than many have done to earn a title shot. But personally I agree, I'd like to see Chisora get a few more wins, preferable at least one name like Arreola, Fury, Wilder to earn a shot.
Chisroa was a nobody when wlad signed to fight him twice, now he's in the best shape of his life with experience he needs to prove himself, atsch
