Wlad can't beat anyone nowadays without grabbing/leaning an opponent to exhaustion. Vitali wouldn't have any of it. Vitali is a fighter.

The fight was fixed. Wlad fought like he was worried about Koing Povetkin and thats why he held so much, he wanted to make sure the fight went the distance.

It was a bad fight, but if Wlad did clinch too much, Povetkin is to blame as well. His Whole gameplan hinged on getting rough on the inside, but once he got there, he wasn't able to do anything. It would have nice to see him switch up and try a bit of boxing - couldn't do any worse.

fuking morons with their conspiracy theories. 8 hours ago the fight was "fixed in pov favor" because of where it was fought, the judges who were appointed and wlad would need a KO to even win. now the ref and judges were in wlads back pocket.
seriously? make up your mind douche bags

The spirit of John Ruiz lives on...............LOL

But Wlad won, and won decisively. With his mission accomplished he is on to the next challenger.

But the clinching was excessive and the opening up on Povetkin was short lived............I can hear Manny telling him *we don't want this to turn into another Ibragimov fight* as he told him a few fights ago..........LOL

Manny would've been furious with how Wlad performed and not getting Povetkin out of there after 4 KD's

The fight was in Povetkin's home turf, not Vlad's..................

Wlad couldn't of possibly tried any harder to make sure the fight lasted the distance.

Correct. Povetkin knew what was coming yet insisted on plunging into Wlad's folds. The blame rests on him.

I only watched the first 2 rounds.

But what little I saw Ali was clearly shot and didn't clinch or lean on Norton half as much as Wlad did last night. The referee also did a better job of warning Ali for his transgressions.

Never rated Povetkin. I always felt that if he took a different path, fighting different contenders he wouldn't have fought Wlad. Should have lost years ago really. Very average, for a gold medallist.

Povektin speaks the truth. Props to him. By the way, Povektin came in real low near the belt level which in boxing almost always initiates a clinch.

He did not have to do this. There is nothing in the contract of the fight that says Povetkin agrees to be tied up inside.
