Or am i the only one who's more interested in seeing this for the MW title than a Cotto-Canelo fight?

I know, a win over Rodriguez is not something to get overexcited about, but if Cotto sticks with the responsible pressure fighting style he went back to for this fight, also factoring in Cotto's experience and Martinez's increasing vulnerability, i think he has a real chance to make history and become a 4-weight champion!:bbb

Martinez on his last legs and that fight would be easy to make and very competitive.Cotto has numerous options and I hope he stays with Top Rank and HBO.
Cotto's record with GBP and Sho has been appalling.

Seems like Cotto/Sergio is where it's likely headed...Cotto said that TR/GB would need to talk for a "nelo fight to happen...

    **** YES....

Great fight! As Canelo, Martinez biggest advantage is size. I don't even think Cotto belongs at 154lbs. And Roach seems to agree. But Martinez doesn't sell as well as the other options and I think is a bigger risk than Canelo. So, I doubt this will happen now. Not a good business decision.

Would rather see Cotto vs Canelo. But, this wouldn't be bad matchup. I think Martinez stops Cotto though.

This wouldn't be a bad fight but Martinez seems to be fading fast. On the other side you got a fresh young ginger, add the PR vs Mexico rivalry and I think Cotto vs Ginger takes it.

The Martinez fight will be great, I think the Canelo fight will sell and be great at any moment. The Martinez fight in the other hand time is its biggest enemy and the longer we wait then possibility of taking place diminishes.

Martinez vs Cotto make it happen!!!!!! A great comeback fight for Maravilla Martinez. If Martinez wins his farewell fight can be against GGG. If Cotto wins he is a free agent and can fight Canelo!!

Yeah..and herein lies my only issue with Maravilla - Cotto (a fight I'd really love to see).

If Cotto wins, he becomes the lineal MW champ, but is unlikely to want to defend against heir apparent Golovkin. =End of lineage.

I'm hoping HBO conjure up a two fight deal with the winner of Cotto - Maravilla to fight GGG.

Martinez destroys Cotto, Martinez has fought & beat huge guys like Pavlik, Williams, Chavez, Macklin, Braker & Murray, midget Cotto can try to bring the 'pressure' if he wants but Martinez would smash him up, lets be real Cotto doesn't even belong at 154 never mind 160

Canelo/Cotto would be a bigger, more exciting fight but a win over Martinez--if Cotto can pull it off--would look better on his legacy.

Cotto should fight 3G to test that waters at 160 before taking on the champ

cotto destroys a guy who was 3-2-1 in his last 6 fights and bring on Sergio at middleweight? i think people have lost their minds around here. Cotto now 1-2 in his last 3.
