Klitchko fans are hilarious ,these robots would have got outclassed by the likes of a prime Holyfield ..
Holyfield beat him also. He had a heart problem during all three fights and Bowe still had a hard time. A bad heart Holyfield would smash Clinchko anyday. You mean the Buster Douglas that was coming of his domination over an undefeated champion Mike Tyson. That Buster Douglas:deal Your an idiot who never watched boxing. George only lost three times during his comeback. Quit making **** up. Mike was undefeated in the 90s. Until Evander ruined him for good. I didn't say he beat him. I said he fought Lennox Lewis. Has Wlad ever fought Lennox Lewis? :-(
Enough of these threads.. Lewis beat Evander by using his reach to measure him with jabs and his weight to blanket him as soon as he tried to bull in. Same tactics Wlad excels at, they had the same trainer. Evander also was really awful in the first Lewis fight, he did better in the second one but didn't have the stamina to wrestle with Lewis for 12 and gave away many of the late rounds. Evander in his late 30s was too inconsistent to bet on, and than once he injured his arm against Byrd, he was done.
History Revisionism Here. I lived through the 90s. -Evander did not have a bad heart in any of the Bowe fights. He claimed to have been sick in the third with Hepatitis. The first two fights were largely close because Bowe tried to brawl instead of using his jab, when he used his jab, Evander could do nothing. -Douglas was fat in the Evander fight and looked awful, he lost all motivation after beating Tyson and got tagged trying a lazy uppercut from like 3 feet out. Evander deserved better. -Foreman was dangerous in his comeback but could be easily outboxed because he was so immobile. Holyfield tried hard for a knockout because he was under a lot of pressure from his critics (sound familiar?) and got hurt a few times. Foreman also got brutalized by Stewart and outclassed by Shultz. Though not official losses, they were huge robberies at the time. -Mike was largely inactive in the 90s, he lost 91-96 to prison, than he lost 97-99 to suspension. The last suspension ruined him for good, as he never looked right after that. I think Evander's wins were amazing though, considering he was coming off such poor performances against Mercer and Bowe, and Tyson looked to be finding his old form in the Bruno rematch. Evander shouldn't be bashed though, he had a great career, and is a true all time great. He had some great wins, but he matched up poorly against big HWs like Bowe and had a ton of health problems and setbacks that made him very inconsistent. Like Wlad, he was also heavily criticized during his prime years..it wasn't until he beat Tyson he got any real reaspect.
You obviously have never watch them fight. Lennox stood toe to toe with Holyfield inside. Thats how he won the second fight. By being more aggressive. Bullsh!t you Wlad fans need to stop comparing Wlad to Lennox. Lennox had better stamina than Wlad, had a amazing uppercut which Wlad doesn't, and wasn't afriad to finish his opponents when he had the chance. If Wlad fought Holyfield like he did Povetkin. He'd be knockout.
No, I unfortunately bought both Lewis/Holyfield fights on PPV. They were not toe to toe brawls, man. We were all pretty disappointed we paid 45 for them lol...That's how much it cost then. -Wlad has an amazing short left hook and Lewis doesn't. Other than that they are both big Steward fighters. Lewis was criticized at the time for being afraid to finish his opponents, much like Wlad. I think in retrospect Lewis could be more aggressive against overmatched opponents. Holyfield too, I think we were all just spoiled by Tyson in the 80s though he wasn't perfect either.
Wlad has way more knockouts than Lennox has fights. Higher KO percentage too. I don't think Wlad is scared to finish an opponent in comparison to Lennox.
Yeah, I remember Lewis getting grilled in interviews, and his response was "Yeah he was hurt but a man is his most dangerous when he was hurt" Lewis really wasn't even all that bad a finisher, the HW Champion is just always going to be under a microscope.
Also, Wlad is pretty old for a heavyweight. He's the same age Lennox was when he fought Vitali. Prime vs prime is debatable. But I think today's Wlad is way better than that Lennox who showed up to fight Vitali.
