maybe dominating was abit harsh on kessler and he did hav a few moments and you could tell joe was cautious of his power but joe did take control and won a pretty clear decision which is more then froch did and that was kessler at his best imo mikel wasnt in good form at all he boxed something like 12 rounds in over 3 and a half years between the froch fights cos of a number of injuries & the calibre of fighter wasnt the top tier Magee was decent .. allen green is a tune up and i cant even remember who the other one was and checked on boxrec and ive still no idea who he is... hardly the greatest of form
Thing with Joe was he would get into his rythm and it looked great to watch, he had superb skills with an engine to match and just made it look effortless at times. There is a video of when he was a young amateur and you could tell back then he was special.
Does anyone think Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell, Reid, or Lacy would have been SMW champs in the Eubank-Benn era, or during recent era? Being a belt holder during a weak era dont mean he was worthy. If you take the Klits out of the HW division, and maybe remove some other top ten fighters you can carefully guide sam ***ton and mcdermott to be HW champs.
exactly.. so theres no point in trying to taint a victory. A win was a win, Joe was the much better man on the night. Kessler if injured, was undefeated with a title he could have pulled out. But he didnt. Haye has done on quite a few occasions.
no complaints here i thought he beat kessler but the fighter himself said he could not exact his game plan as he was carring injury
Magee and Green are the type of opponents Joe Calzaghe feasted on for years, his record is full of Magees and Greens by that I mean second tier fighters hand picked by Frank ******.At least they were tune up fights for Mikel and not supposedly serious title defenses as would have been the case with Calzaghe.
When all is said and done, Carl Froch. Calzaghe feasted on b and c level fighters. Hopkins and Kessler are great wins, but Hopkins arguably won that fight. A faded Hopkins gave Calzaghe big problems. Calzaghe would have a few losses on his record if he didn't hand pick most of his fights. He was very well managed and guided throughout his career. A prime Jones would have seriously toyed with Calzaghe.
