Done okay but only domestic level. Not many people box in UK no more so its quite easy to be domestic level. Anyone can be a journeyman if they train nowadays. Not worth it though getting your head punched in for £200. and if you win Eddie don't pay your £200!

Why do you guy's think that the Mexican fighters with limited amateur experience get on better than other fighters from other country's, is it their style or the fact they fight allot more journeymen at the start of there careers? I also heard that Paul Williams had a limited amateur career.

Canelo won his junior national championships. He may have turned over early, but he had amateur experience.

he did have....theres conflicting reports...some sources say up to 100 bouts as a child...but others say only a handful of bouts as a child....he did do something as an amatuer though.
i added him as it is said to have all been when he was a young kid and he had all that time inside and went pro after his release

Bert Gilroy, No Amateur boxing, turned Pro at 15, became Scotland's longest champion 1938-50, Britain's most feared fighter 1938-48 and No.1 British Contender Middleweight & Light-Heavyweight 1939-48 and ended up Inducted into the WBHOF in 2006.

    that qualifies I'd say!
