just the facts. Feel free to share your view or add

reasons for canelo- bigger, stronger, younger, has more to prove, cotto is a sucker for uppercuts, cotto swells easily, more handspeed, better counter puncher

Reasons for cotto- more battle tested, better jab, canelo chin hasn't been tested, would be the hardest puncher canelo has faced by far, better footwork, slightly better stamina, way more active with higher output

Before you play the trout card, remind yourself that canelo is nothing like trout
Not tall, not as slick, not rangy and not a lefty

Fraudelo gets destroyed by cottos jab. And left hooks
    To the body.

Punch output of this puto is far too low

Canelo gets cornered easily and isn't that good at cutting off a ring himself. Cotto would control either range well, assuming he kept his defense tight. Tighter and shorter on the inside, more accurate with the jab and footwork on the outside.

I don't think Cotto can hurt Canelo and Canelo can easily stay in range with his footspeed and throw his combos. He would have Cotto backing up in a couple of rounds, then it's all downhill.

Canelos punch output is far too low to KO cotto. Which means he can only win a decision. His punch output is too low for that either.

Im not even convinced he'd have an advantage over cotto on the inside. Cotto beats that little boy down.

not to be disrespectful but I've always been amused with this idea that cotto can't hurt canelo. . . so i ask

What punch from who canelo has taken flush to say that? floyd, trout, lopez, mosley, cintron, gomez, rhodes, hatton, baldomir and N'dou

none of them are punchers at 154

canelo can't take it to the body and only fights for 1 minute of every round.

canelo also got rocked by miguels brother jose. miguel finishes what jose started.

I take Canelo the fresher of the two younger, stronger look Cotto's face you see the wear and tear of the battles and beatings.

LOL @ Canelo being a better counter puncher.

The rest of the post is pretty solid.

I'd favor Cotto. Quite handily actually.

As you said he's battle tested, and I think he's just a smarter fighter.

You are living in the past Canelo was a kid, how long you think Jose could last now.

Well he's older than he was then. Cotto stopped Devin in 3. And while Delvin isn't a contender, he's a legit 154 (in size). Canelo let JOSESITO LOPEZ stick around. and actually land shots on him. Remind you, Lopez came up from 140 to fight Canelo and has very limited boxing skills. and is not better than Delvin. The same Lopez that Maidana stopped in even more impressive fashion.

I;m not dissing Canelo, I'm just saying Im not sure hes as good as his fans think he is. :nono
