I'm surprised but also impressed by the amount of air-time it's getting on Sky Sports News. Seems they are seriously back in the international fight game now. They have put their hands in their deep pockets to get some more fights from abroad and judging on this experience; they will get the coverage they deserve. Separate point - Does Hearn and his shows deserve some credit for getting Sky's attention with boxing again? I mean they are now happy to invest in these foreign shows? I give Hearn stick but in this instance, think it's only fair to give him his dues.... Thoughts?
Hearn has been able to do it because of the burns Beltran fight, tv rights were negotiated there for it. Plus Hearn is supposed to be very cozy with HBO. I think the ringside this was the best in a while. Paulie Malignaggi was a great guest. I enjoy it.
I'd go as far to say the best Ringside ever. It was brilliant evey single bit of it especially the Donaire bit and Paulie is class when talking about boxing.
I saw that is was getting a lot of mention on SSN this morning. It was good to see and I hope they get more quality international bouts shown.
Dont really agree there.Just on the back of beating Senchenko, which is likely but not guaranteed,I couldn't see Hearn putting him in with the winner.Too big a leap IMO. Malinaggi was,as usual, great last night.Hes nothing to prove,I think he should talk about boxing full time.Hope we see more of him.
Paulie is amazing. Would hate to have an argument with him though, the speed at which he speaks at is incredible.
sky used to put on a lot of usa fights ...long before the internet so a lot of the time it was the first id heard of the boxers... i remember watching barrera v morales way back whenever that was and being totally blown away... i do think Hearn has done a lot to make boxing much more popular and more mainstream in this country
As others have said Ringside was really enjoyable last night, fair play to Sky who could have just set up in the UK studio but instead sent everyone out to Vegas which couldn't of been cheap. Paulie is really interesting to listen to and I really enjoyed the trip round Vegas to all the different arena's that have hosted big fights in the past, the episode made me look forward to tomorrow night more than I already was. :bbb
Anyone no where i can watch Ringside from last night, sounds great, Love Paulie as an annalist, Have to disagree with it being bought because of Brook, no way Brook fights Bradly or Marquez winner, maybe the loser would actually be a great fight for Kell after Senchenko, think its bought because it's a big big fight and sky wanted to do something after Boxnation got Mayweather Canelo
