Does anyone believe Fraziers greatness took a hit with his losses to Foreman?

If you are referring to the time delay spent in searching for another pair of gloves, which incidentally were not changed, the extra time was negligible.

There were about 5 seconds extra time if I remember rightly.

Would everyone here still rate Joe Frazier among the top 20 heavyweights of all-time ?
Or is that too high ?

Anyone who has him outside the top 15 needs a toe up his arse.

You've never seen Dundee split the glove, or any meaningful delay. It's all made up bull****.

Dundee probably tried to get more time, and possibly split the glove open further.
But it only amounted to 5 seonds extra, which isn't a lot - but might have made a difference.

But if he was only a great fighter for one night of his career, and has a thin resume outside of it, and then destroyed by Foreman, it's possible that he gets relegated more towards the Buster Douglas sort of range.

Don't know. I had no idea smelling sorts were illegal until people on this forum starting bring up "illegal smelling sorts."

i think the 5 seconds might have helped Clay. I got to give Dundee some credit for trying anyway.

I thought Frazier's performance was excellent. It was a great fight.

Do you mean you rate Ali as #1 all-time ?

True. Many people thought Ali was the rightful champion too.

    It's nonsense.

Buster Douglas isn't in the top 40.

Frazier has a fine resume outside of Ali, and IMO put in a better performance against Foster than against Ali for as long as it lasted.

I'm not sure where I'd put him. He was arguably 'great for one night' though, and his win over Tyson ranks in the very top echelon of HW wins.

I would tend to agree, but extensive arguments to the contrary have been made on this thread by more than one postor.
