    The infamous "fight".
I remember watching it live. Never again.

Thing with Johnny is that he has never pretended some of his fights weren't stinkers. Is always open and honest about it.

Similar style to Witter, awful to watch potshot grab or on the back foot jabbing and movin. Nice guy though

Like me you got to see the classic that was Akinwande/Nelson?

Thankfully I do not think that fight was filmed, but it made Warring/Nelson look like a Zale/Graziano bout.

It was at York Hall. He was there to get beat, but gave Akiwandi trouble all night.

Johnny Nelson was a very talented and slick boxer with that awkward Brendan Ingle style. He froze on his first two title attempts and turned in such negative efforts that it severely hurt his marketability. Eventually though he faced his demons and delivered the goods.

Oh yes that fight. :patsch I have blanked that match out of my memory. Probably one of the worst title fights I have ever seen. The problem about that one is that it was so winnable.

I'm not old enough to remember but my old man told me once, that he had 4 tickets to see him but couldn't go, the 3 other lads were still going so he tried to give away his ticket and nobody wanted to go (even for free) so that's probably the top and bottom of it.
