Arguably The top 2 best CW and LHW's of all time..Foster was suck a stellar fight and arms like whips, also i believe Bob would have matched Roy's Speed. RJ would not be able to pull his cutie bull**** against Foster. Bottom line look what Tarver did to Roy, so just imagine the beating Foster would put on him. I dont see RJJ makin it past 6.....:bbb:vonnecunt:fight

foster vs roy(on the way up in weight, not who got ko'd) would be a very close fight imo(or at least there's many possibe fights i can see happening), I'd think roy takes less than he lands. But if foster lands clean on a 175lb'er they tend to feel it.

I'll take foster to hurt him and get the finish in round 9(of 12), because roy didn't have much experience of being hurt and surviving. but i wouldn't bet a penny on it at even odds.

Good matchup.I lean towards Foster who may have been the biggest hitter the division ever had.Roy's speed would cause problems for Bob ,but into the second half of the fight I see him finding the range consistently to gain a late stoppage.

Foster had no chin and never beat a legit power puncher at LHW in his career. Doug Jones (the closest thing to a LHW puncher that Foster fought) beat his ass and nearly KO'd him in the first round. Roy Jones is a legit power puncher. No way Foster comes close to matching Jones' speed. Jones by KO or lopsided decision punctuated by knockdowns.

I know the delusional codgers aren't going to like this, but if Jones had fought Foster's LHW opposition, he would have a higher KO percentage than Foster.

Foster had no chin ? Which lhvy's stopped him? Depaula was a legitimate puncher. Jones was rated no 3 in the HEAVYWEIGHT RANKINGS when he stopped LATE SUB Foster who was having his 10th fight.Do you have any idea how ridiculous your posts reads?

Doug Jones was about the same size as Roy Jones in the ring and he stopped Foster, beat his ass like he stole something. Doug Jones would have been a light heavy in Roy's time, I don't care where he was ranked 300 years ago. And DePaula was garbage. You call him a legitimate puncher but what was his best stoppage win? DePaula never beat anyone who was actually any good. He did knock Foster down but he wasn't the only one.

So the number 3 rated heavyweight stops a late sub 10th fight lightheavy ,and that proves the late sub had no chin.Good logic.

pardon me here...and as always i am open to correction.

but is it fair to compare doug jones on this night to a roy jones who came up from a lower weight ?

i am not for a second saying doug jones was better than jones....i'm just answering the weight factor scenario

It is fair because we know much Roy Jones weighed in the ring and how much Doug Jones weighed in the ring. Even at MW, Roy was about 180 in the ring. At LHW, he was about 182-185 lbs.

It's ridiculous when people try to play up the likes of DePaula as some strong opponent that Foster beat. Roy Jones wouldn't get any credit for beating him. Hell, guys like Richard Hall and David Telesco have ATG resumes compared to DePaula.

Rusak does raise an interesting point regarding Foster and his opposition. With the exception of Dick Tiger, I've never seen anything about Bob Foster's record that warrants the standing he holds among the true elite of the 175 division.

Quite an overrated fighter in my view, and one who's claim to greatness is questionable.

And Jones's opposition is much better?
