Echols in his prime before the shooting was pretty good though, I would never blame Joe and W$$en for ducking him, in fact that sounds about normal for a Wazzen act.

though this is consistent with the fact that that Joe Calzaghe consistently picked weaklings on losing streaks to defend against rather than genuine challengers.

echols was good. joe did the right thing.

 

Echols would have been a much tougher fight than Brewer so Joe stayed true to his word about tough fights.

 

yeah come to think of it why is this thread even being pursued? Joe Calzaghe doesn't want tough fights, so why match him with toney and echols?

We should be matching Joe with like for like fights that he aimed for and not unrealistic fights that he'd run away from (why would he run away from them? because as Joe says he doesn't want tough fights direct quote, undisputable).
