yeah I mean, we all know that Bob Fitzsimmons was better than Roy, and we all know that there are dozens of potential 'SMWs' in history before the arrival of the SMW division who would have ripped Calzaghes head off too.

    History is like that.

And it is history. In the relatively short history of fragmented titles, Jones has managed to relieve a mediocre beltholder of his strap. There are many historical feats. Some huge. Some small. Jones beating Ruiz is in the latter degree. Hell he wasn't even an underdog.

I think if anyone expects a fading 35 year old natural LMW to face superHWs who possess a natural 100lb advantage over him, that person needs a reality check (or their name is Rico Spadafora).

I bet that most of the members of the Ripped Fuel brigade watched as a kid how Jones toyed with the Pazienzas of the world thinking that this boxer is the best the world has ever seen.:lol:

if you are happy to bank your words and see when the feat repeated, I'm happy with that.

I take it as if you feel Jones beating Ruiz was a major acheivement?

There was no contract to fight Tyson, Lewis or anyone else. That is why I am ignoring them. Jones agreed to fight Sanders then said he wanted 20 mil guaranteed and pulled out. This falls in line with him wanting 50 mil for Tyson and 100 mil for Lewis. Those are not reasonable numbers and it is out of the Jones playbook of pricing himself out of a fight which he had done before in the past such as demanding a 90/10 purse split with Nunn and Kerry Davis told them it wasn't even possible to draft such a one sided deal :rofl:patsch

    :lol::lol::lol:

So now Jones was 'fading' heading into the Ruiz bout? :rofl:patsch Wow.

Revisionist history at its best I guess.

Calling him a natural LMW is even more of a stretch IMO. :deal:

The Ripped Fuel brigade will do anything to up Jones.

whats revisionist about scientific studies proving the loss of physical capabilities after the age of 30? They are utterly undisputable cold hard facts that apply to the whole world. Except Rico of course. Hes different from the entire population of the human race.

DO you know more than the doctors now, Rico, as well as deciding what is and isn't history?

Seriously, what kind of arrogant person are you.

What does that statement do for Calzaghe's legacy in your opinion?

According to them Jones never ducked anyone it was always the other guys manager or promoters fault Jones took on all comers and was the greatest fighter ever despite strong evidence that isn't true. That have 1 million excuses on why Jones didn't fight this guy or that guy and none of it was Jones fault. He had a history of handpicking fights in EVERY division he fought in. They just ignore it like it never happened.

The Ruiz fight is one of the best examples of handpicking an opponent there has been in the last 30 years of the sport. But, he HAD to fight Ruiz because he 'beat' Holyfield :lol: What a joke.

yes that is a stretch, he was more of a MW.

I expect that extra 6 pounds should make all the difference going into a potential fight with a Klitshchko or Lewis with a near 100lb advantage. good argument there.

Explain Hopkins or even Calzaghe then. What a ridiculous post by you. Jones was in no way 'fading' heading into the Ruiz bout. :rofl
