It is the other way around.. It is history no matter how much YOU desperately dont want it to be.. Which is why you have been on here everyday for years bashing both Jones and Ruiz.:deal

Give it up Rico, life is too short..

Joe Calzaghe recently spoke of the amazing feat... Saying he understands why Roy was called Superman being able to do what he did.

Hurry Rico, send Joe a letter and let him know it really wasn't a big deal, and doesn't need to be remembered in boxing history.:rofl:patsch

Again you are comparing Oranges to Watermelons to fit your agenda. Number of title defenses and moving up to win a trinket belt are two totally different things. You are trying to cram a square peg in a round hole with that comparison.:rofl

It isn't history. He didn't fight Lennox Lewis and never was going to. Heck he wouldn't even fight Chris Byrd when King asked him to. :rofl:patsch

He had a perfect storm to fight a guy that had a worthless trinket belt that had literally no skills, no power, and a referee that was willing to stop his only 'skill' which was the 'Jab & Grab'. The fact that Ruiz is the ONLY Heavyweight champion to lose to not one but TWO former Middleweights speaks volumes about how good he was :lol:

He was so awful two former middleweights handpicked him to fight :patsch

No. He wasn't huge at all. He fought at LHW in the days of same Day weigh in. Had he fought today, he'd probably be a MW or if he took the Gatti route, a LMW.

Why would I want to send Calzaghe a letter? He schooled Jones when they fought cutting him to shreds and clowing and taunting him like he wasn't even there in the ring it was so bad of a whipping.

Because he thinks of Roy as Superman, and admittedly didn't fight him in his prime.:yep

He gave up about the same as Jones. For Cooney the difference was within a couple lbs compared to the difference between Jones and Ruiz.

Defending a trinket belt is better than moving up and winning a trinket belt? ok:lol::patsch

you could use any record or feat or major fight from any new division and your argument tries to disown them - do you not see that?

If you want to ignore a LMW winning a HW title because LMW wasn't around and there was only title available in history, then you have to ignore every comparable feat in history too.
But theres no way you can ignore every comparable feat in history, is there?

Why is that funny? Are you aware of a term called fightnight weight?

becauase Calzaghe thinks Jones is a boxing God, so he disagrees with you.

My point is, there is no way in hell that Spinks would have been a MW today.. And that Spinks is bigger than Roy Jones..

Had Roy started at LHW like Spinks and Moorer, then no, moving up and beating Ruiz would not have been that amazing..

But Roy didn't start at LHW now did he?

If you can't see the difference then there is no point of continuing this conversation.

Listen your point was that Spinks achievement was incomparable to Roys. I debunked that.

Had Jones started at LHW he'd never win a title. These guys would outweigh him on fightnight by up to 40 lbs.
