You didn't debunk a damn thing..

Spinks did not win a world title at MW.. You are trying to debunk fact, and it just isn't possible.

Are you aware of the fightnight weight of say JCC Jr. Or Kelly Pavlik just to name two? And what division do you reckon they'd fight in if they fought in the 80'ies?

The weight of JCC J. Kelly Pavlik has nothing to do with Spinks making MW, much less being effective there.

Why not? Surely they'd have been fighting at 175 BITD. This should tell you that it is plausible to say that Spinks could have been a modern day MW. You cannot argue anything else.

So Barry. How many top 3 SMW's did Jones fight after he won the title? What's your guess?

I can argue that Kelly Pavlik is a drunk, and gets flabby in between fights..
Every single person's body is different, and Spinks had a huge frame and didn't look to have much bodyfat..

I simply can't imagine him being an effective MW.

And it doesn't matter anyway.. He DIDN'T win a title at MW, Roy did, making his achievement more historic.

Give it up. You have no case. Its perfectly plausible that Spinks would have been a MW under todays weighin rules.

Actually you are right for once. Spinks was THE champion at Light Heavyweight and THE champion at Heavyweight. He wasn't some trinket title holder at either weight like Roy was. You keep talking about 'titles' that doesn't matter what matters in being THE champion of the division. Roy didn't make history by winning a 'title'. He could have if he had fought and beat Lennox but he was too reluctant to do such.

Ive already answered this, it's none, but he DID beat James Toney and the SMW was a joke division back then so was only ever a brief stop gap for Roy.

I considered Roy THE LHW champion.. As do you, because you claim Calzaghe beat THE LHW champion.

And trinket belts or not, it is still history, as no one has even won trinket belts in those weights..

It is a historic achievement, and a fine one at that.

And again, we need to allow for circumstance too.. Do you think Spinks could have been THE HW champion in Roy's era? I don't think so. Spinks would have just been a top 5 HW like Roy.
