It's an interview with Paul Williams from one of Britains biggest selling news papers The Mirror.

his last two (shot jones apart), 7 years after making that quote, weak counter argument to THAT specific quote.

You should have mentioned robin reid, mate, that was very tough, arguably a loss. the tv show guy Bika was an easy fight on paper but turned out quite scarily tough. Brewer turned out a desperately tough despite brewer being the loser of his last fight towards a title shot.

See you need to defend Joe properly if you are going to do it at all, but your effort was WAY off mark.

You have the link you spastic, it's an archived interview because it was done in the days before all these news papers had their own websites. I can even remember reading the actual interview from the time.

What about when Calzaghe said fighting Roy Jones would be pointless because he was so shot?

That's in his autobiography and there are youtube videos of his interview on SkySports where he says the same thing.

You Calzaghe fans are mugs, plain and simple.

be serious if you were comparing someone who went from LMW to HW winning titles and fighter of the last decade, to someone who is completely unknown to you (and even if you knew them, they had stayed with one worthless belt for 10 years doing nothing except for one tough opponent and eventualy briefly other belts), do you think some people aren't going to back Jones however shot he is?

remember that calzaghe was only recently breaking into the US scene with the jones fight, its easy to understand that casual fight fans in the USA knew so little as to underrate him.

Hopkins/Jones II was pointless, difference is though they also fought each other when it mattered.

denying the words of your own hero.

Theres a famous quote about that somewhere, something Quixotic.
