Come on jab. You cannot put forward such an accusation without backing it up. So back it up or apologise.

not even a couple, but sure if you are rounding up then you can get away with 2 years.

again, he wasn't at SMW several years prior[/quote] was he? he appears to have been at MW and only occasionally at SMW. this is another lie.

that it was not a strong tenure but in line with the champions of the division before and after for several years. in 11 months, calzaghe, bute, Kessler, and many of the bit part smw title holders of that era or close to that era made fewer defences per year and with less success. Ottke is the only who aimed higher, with his german cheat system. Eubank strikes me as one who fought more often.

I cant think of any other divisions he could have gone to bar cruiser. Are you referring to other sports like MMA?

In essense he was there from 93 to 96.

    What's the german cheat system?
No, but he could have chosen better opponents in the divisions where he stayed.

At LHW he missed DM... he nearly cleared it out other than that.

And in that mysteriously disappeared video before the Brannon fight, HBO and Roy said other fighters were offered money and they turned it down..

Were they offered a 90/10 split like Nunn was? :huh

na he was in and out at that time before he was SMW title holder. He lingered 11 months as champion, that's all, nothings changed - he won it late 94 and defenced till to late 96.

    bent judges and ref.

yes, I agree but not much better and certiainly he was on par with the weak champions of the smw at the time.

Would pick Jones to win on points. In his prime he was the better fighter. Wouldn't have been a walkover though. Calzaghe was a very good fighter, you don't end up with a record like his by being rubbish.

Some of them were career high paydays, if I remember correctly..

Do you remember seeing this video? It was on youtube a while back and was posted on here.. I can't find it anywhere..:think

One of you Jones haters probably hacked and deleted it.:rofl

Nunn was a very risky fight with very low reward for Roy.. I admit that Roy didn't want to take that chance.. Unless of course Nunn agreed to the disgraceful split.

    BatTheMan,

We've already discussed this at length.

Roy had all three belts, and was the world's best fighter.

Yeah he clearly wanted the fight, when his promoter was purposely ignoring HBO's calls.

How was it not good business sense for DM?

He could have had a big money fight with Roy afterwards, for his old belts.

But he fought Joey De Grandis instead.

No, Kohl wouldn't meet with HBO, or take any calls to discuss any numbers. So Davis faxed through the proposal. It's funny that all the calls were ignored, yet the fax was instantly replied to.

You listed 13 names, including Iran Barkley, who never even fought at 168, while Roy was there, and Ray Close and Frank Nicotra were also on the list.

It was just a bunch of names been bandied around without any thought.

    It was a joke.

You claimed that the 13 were deserving, and I proved that six of them clearly weren't.

It will only look bad on you if I bump it.

Yeah, how many other LHW's were knocking on Ruiz's door for a fight?

How many have moved up since Roy, within the last ten years?

Who at 168-175 today, looks as though they're going to go up to challenge ANY HW?

    Let's see the list.

I never said you wanted to see it personally.

I'm asking why you've been constantly asking why Roy handpicked a trinket holder, when he could have fought Byrd or Sanders.

When Roy signed to fight Ruiz, Sanders didn't even have the WBO, and since when did the WBO hold more worth than the WBA?

Why was Byrd's belt more valuable?

Show me where I've said that Roy HAD to fight Ruiz?

    Show me!

    You're a joke!

Crediting Joe for fighting Kessler, and blaming Jay Nady for Roy's dominance over Ruiz.

    You should be embarrassed!
