I was banned for racism huh? Is this what I've reduced you to, blatant lies? You're pathetic! Oh, and I'm still waiting in you top 20 and the reason you think Hopkins has juiced most of his career.
Yeah, I actually find most klittards' reactions on here straight up aggravating. Like, why the **** would being a Hall of Famer not be enough? Especially for a weak ass resume like that? Why can't these mother****ers comprehend that people are being generous here? The way ******s like bremen and so forth treat the HoF is an insult to anyone inscribed there. Being an ATG, an ALL TIME GREAT, has insanely high requirements and when you can't claim with a straight face that Vitali's resume is outstanding (which it's not even close and klittards know it's true), then you should reconsider spamming boxing forums with that nonsense. Seriously. I mean, what other than an outstanding resume is gonna elevate you to ATG status? What the **** is the criteria then?
Resume. Hall of Fame criteria might vary. Gatti ain't a HoF calibre boxer and yet I like the fact he's in. Vitali managed to win a title back after 4 years off which is a pretty good accomplishment. Throw him right into the HoF, I'm fine with that. Anything beyond that? Naw. The era he fought in was weak and he didn't even face the best.
I agree. Except for tha Gatti part. He shouldn't be in. Neither should McGuigan and a few others that I have forgotten. Yeah Vitali should join the HOF. I think most would agree. It's the ATG status thats debateable. I can understand that there is individual criterias. That means that you cannot just ridicule others saying that Vitali is an ATG if said posters criteria is for instance top 30 or 50 in the HW division. Personally I reserve the ATG tag to the very best by resume and as such Vitali falls short. But if you include intangibles in your assesment then the social impact in their times of Vitali and Dempsey ensures their inclusion.
We're not too far off then. I'm reluctant to include social impact and boxing unrelated stuff into an ATG ranking however. Grant him a place in the HoF for that and it's all good but ATG as to my understanding is a subjective list of the boxers with the best accomplishments. You can prolly make a case for Wlad but not for Vitali honestly.
Why is it when I said I ranked on resume you ridiculed me? And as far as others who's lists may be 30 or 50....why not 100 or 200? This way everybody can manipulate it to get to call their favorite fighter an ATG. As far as social impact....He's had none in America. As far as Europe I can't say because Im not there. But he only seems real big in the Ukraine and Germany. Can you elaborate more on his social impace and how its effected boxing and or Europe?
...like a phoenix! (which is exactly what they'll be saying of Lennox, if those comeback vs. Wladimir rumors prove true... :blood)
Viva indeed. :good No more Sticky, as we already have a few in the General Forum (and there were entirely too many stickies before) - but it needed to be rescued from the scrap heap and cranked on again in the wake of some of the recent TKO6 related activity in the boxing world. There were more than half a dozen threads pertaining almost entirely to Lewis vs. Klitschko created just since the start of the $100 million return scuttlebutt last week...containing a sum of nearly 500 posts! This old barge wasn't doing the board a lick of good in dry-dock, so by the power (re-)vested in me, let it remain unlocked and henceforth available to fulfill its promise of swallowing up all TKO6 material. The Great Purge 'n' Merge must be an ongoing process, as long as there is TKO6 denial and debate.
