One of the best examples is this: Kostya Tszou went 12 rds vs shot Roger Mayweather, who is famous for his weak chin. Kessler couldn't put down Mundine who was knocked out cold by featherfisted fighters Ottke and Garth Wood. Tua couldn't stop Monty Barrett twice, though Barrett was shot and had few KO losses. Any other fights?
Maidana v Khan comes to mind. He came about as close as you can in the 10th but he couldn't put him down.

This might be the best example. If Ottke can KO you your Chin is abysmal. How Kessler didn't get rid of Mundine I will never know.
Khan was a bit lucky vs Maidana, the ropes saved him at first, then Cortez helped as as well plus Maidana was knackered after the body shot knockdown and 9 hard rounds. Khan was brave though and stayed on his feet so fair play it was a great win for him. Khan was at his best fitness wise in that fight thanks to Ariza. He wouldn't be able to survive a puncher these days as all the previous beatings and the lack of Ariza have made his already weak Punch resistance even weaker.
You have to keep in mind that Ottke had like 3 ko's in 22 wins at that time, and still knocked Mundine out cold with 1 punch. Years later featherfisted jorneyman Garth Wood didn't land any clean punches but Mundine was KO'd cold once again by one of those blows
Not as known of a fight, but Lemieux vs Alcine. Alcine is a naturally smaller guy and has a **** chin, yet David couldn't put a dent in him. Still don't get it.
Great example. And, while I wouldn't exactly call Tommy Morrison's chin glass (he could take some punishment), given how often it let him down, Foreman-Morrison has to be on the list, too.
If a "puncher" can't stop a guy with a "glass jaw" and he actually hits him, then: 1) He's not a puncher or 2) The other guy doesn't have a glass jaw The term glass jaw is thrown around far too much -- a guy rarely makes it to contender or world class level if he has a glass jaw, because he'd be knocked out in 4-rounders or well before getting that far if he truly couldn't take a punch at all. Khan is a good example. I've seen him hit by respectable punchers and not go down. I've also seen him KOed by good punchers when hit flush. It doesn't mean he has a glass jaw, it means he has average punch resistance, at best. If Ali was coming up the ranks now, he'd be assailed by the chin-checkers after getting knocked down by Sonny Banks.
mundine was kod twice by temple shots, THEY WERE NOT on the chin, ottke hit him flush on the temple while mundine was gassed and breathing insanely hard, and garth wood hit him behind the ear. temple shots can floor anyone. mundine has an average chin though, not glass. he has gone 12 rounds with Kessler, danny green, antwon echols, many siaca, and some other decent punchers. he wouldn't of survived these fights if he had glass. When Mundine fought Otke he was VERY inexperienced. He wasn't long a pro and wasn't even sparring guys at a high level - Not that there are many world class fighters available to spar with here in Australia. I think there was a bit of fatigue involved in that fight - But the punch caught Mundine right on the temple and he hit the canvas as if he'd fallen off a moving train. By the time he fought Kessler he'd learnt a lot - Had a lot more experience and become more defensive following the Otke embarassment. I'm certainly no Mundine apologist - We had a picture of him KO'd on the fridge at my place I lived in at the time with my old boxing coach - But the Otke thing was a combination of inexperience and fatigue IMO.
