The reason Wlad couldnĀ“t stop Povetkin was he was holding all night. With Hayes power there is a good chance, that he would stop Povetkin. Remember how easily Eddie Chambers was finding Povetkin in the early rounds and Chambers has no power. Now think about Haye landing those shots on Povetkin. For sure a different effect on Povetkin.
Haye doesn't throw the amount of punches Chambers did in that fight. You can't expect to KO a warrior like Povetkin while only throwing 12 wild hayemers a round. Haye would be out of his dept in this fight.
What amount of punches did Chambers throw ? He was potshotting like Haye does. Imo Povetkin is tailormade for someone like Haye.
anyone and i mean anyone who thinks there isnt a possibility that povetkin could beat haye need a smack around the face.... decent body attack.hand spead and combinations...fighting against a big man with skill (wlad) he looked poor...haye on the other hand is not bigger than sasha nor is he heavier or stronger...very interesting fight.. id pick a fit povetkin over haye...
Is there such a thing though.. a FIT povetkin? Don't know if I've seen it yet. Also I'm pretty sure Haye IS stronger than pov.
Haye was in with Carl Thompson a former world champion in his 11th pro fight and out boxed him before gassing Haye stops Povetkin in 4 rounds Wlad wobbled Povetkin with a jab in the early rounds before he went for THO technical Hugout
Which was no that many fights ago for Haye. povetkin wobbled by Wlad yet Haye wobbled and or down against Mormeck,Thompson,Barrett,Chisora, and who can forget hard hitting Mock.
Even though the most vocal posters in this thread are clearly Haye bashers luckily forum members as a whole still have some sense as currently the poll stands overwhelmingly (67% to 33%) in Haye's favour. Please reopen this discussion if those numbers change boys... I'm out for now.
Since when is Haye a boxer type of a guy? He's a counter puncher, setting traps for opponents. Your argument is based on Marco Huck, yet he fights completely different style than Haye. Yes, David is faster, punches harder and is better defensively, but does he fight well inside? No. Does he outbox the boxer types? Don't think so. His only hope would be to catch Povetkin during the exchanges and to score a KO. On the other side, Povetkin proved that he's difficult to be knocked out, even against Wlad, who is more powerful than Haye btw. Also, they are similar size so Haye wouldn't be able to walk Povetkin down like Wlad did. Add Haye's awful workrate to that and it's difficult to imagine him outboxing Sasha. Solid punchers' chance for Haye and nothing more. I won't go into that silly argument you're trying to start which includes Chisora.
Haye is the "would of" KING of ESB a guy with 6 fights in 6 years all shi.t but one, yet he KO's everyone in these type of mythical match ups. undisputed champ of pulling out of fights though he is 2 for 2 in pulling out fights just this year!
Eh? I suggest you brush up on some reading comprehension there, fellow. Come back to me when you figure out what I was saying :hi:
