The weigh in was at the day of the fight back then. Today there's time to hydrate. It's not that difficult a concept to grasp Einstein.

Dude. When you stand in a hole, rule no. 1 is to stop digging.

Ok. You are here talking about his defense against David Sears. He came in at 170.

This was in 1985. After being a pro for 8 years, Spinks comes in close to SMW. After 8 years Einstein.

Fighters grow while ageing. After 8 years as a pro, what division do you think Spinks would have fought in under todays weigh-in scheme?

And what does it tell you about Spinks weight making ability 8 years before that?

    LMAO.

    Case closed. You are dismissed.

That is the most pathetic attempt I have ever seen.. What a ****ing failure..

I see no point about Spinks making the weight younger, he always had a very low body fat % and was a gym rat.. That wasn't something that just came out of nowhere after 8 years.. His natural walking weight was 190, and 9% bodyfat, that is insane for vaction time... That is not a MW dude, sorry.

170 was the LIGHTEST Spinks weighed in his ENTIRE professional career!!! And he was a 4.6% bodyfat..

Meaning at Spinks lightest weight in his pro career, he would have pretty much had to shed 10 lbs of pure muscle to make MW.. Todays weigh in scheme would not have mattered.. That 170 was his maximum limit before his muscles start to go..

Losing that ammount of muscle could be very dangerous to a fighter, and he certainly wouldn't have been the Spinks we know.

You think If you told Shilstone and Spinks they had a day to recover they would have decided to cut the 10 lbs muscle??? no ****ing way.. He would have been weak, less powerful, a lesser fighter..

I have proven, with fact, that MW seems out of the question for Spinks..

You can use your what if **** all you want.. Spinks was too big to be a professional MW... Spinks would be a LHW in ANY ERA!

Listen Einstein. When there is a same day weighin, do you then think boxers are dehydrated to the same extent as today when they weigh in the day before? Yes or no.

    Listen,

I have proven to you that Spinks' lowest professional weight, cutting from 190, was 170, with 4.6% body fat.. That is already 20 lbs, with a low body fat %.. And that was with strategic help from Mackie Shilstone... The numbers don't lie, you do...

Are you telling me, that given an extra 24 hours of recovery, Spinks would opt to cut the 10 lbs of pure muscle so he could fight at MW?

    You are getting silly now.

A basic eye test can tell you Spinks would not have fought at MW today. And with the proof in numbers you still don't believe it.:rofl:patsch

this thread grows too fast to keep up with, but I do notice that Loudon thinks DM beating the man doesnt count and thinks thats in the past when trying to debate the DM/Jones argument.
When asked questions like do you think its the fighter who makes the title or the title that makes the fighter, he wont answer but tries to argue that DM only held the WBO title and says that DM beating the man was in the past and seems to forget that DM had the WBA & IBF titles before Jones and that DM beat the fighter who had claim to the WBC title

A few pages back I compared Jones' top 10 LHW opponents to DM's year by year...

It is crazy, and one can easily see why everyone thought Roy was the best LHW. He was doing more than DM to prove it, thats for sure.
