Well, Foster got stopped by a version of Doug Jones who was worse than Ruiz.

Look who Foster was fighting!..Guys in which Roy would never step into the ring with..Period!!..Im just given him credit for movin up and trying...All you RJJ nuthuggers give him credit for Ruiz so why cant Foster get the credit for fighting the best HW of all time and guys like Frazier(which should have scared him out of the division forever)...

Ali? (who he cut) Frazier? Jones (as a sub last minute?) Didn't he give away a ton of pounds and fought Terrell? Ruiz? A hand-picked heavy that the powers that be knew could play right into RJJ's hands.
It would be a fine scrap but I'm taking Bob. A very talented Vincente Rondon was brutally destroyed by Bob inside of two rounds.
The only poster who seems to have his finger on the button in this debate is mcvey. My $0.02

Nut hugger alert: At Lt. Heavy Eddie Gregory would have every answer for RJJ and as far as chins go RJJ is not in the same ballpark as Eddie in that respect.

Saw Foster defend his title against Andy Kendall in 1969...he hit like hell...if Tarver could connect...Bob by KO...

foster is a top 10 light heavy all-time but he never defeated anyone close to the likes of a prime roy jones. tiger was 39 yr old and a much smaller fighter. even though they're not at 175, at least jones has wins over toney and bhop. foster has a style to trouble jones some but i don't think he lands near enough in this matchup. jones ud.

Doug Jones, had it been just him and Ali and Frazier, then the late sub excuse would be reasonable. But it became a tendency. Heavier opponent who is not a tomato can - Foster loses to them.
Very talented Vicente Rondon? How many supposedly talented fighters were there in history? A million. Means nothing.

Andy who? If Eddie Vick, who never a scored a KO win in his career, could knock Foster down at the end of the first round, so that had it not been a one-minute rest, Bob would have been stopped for Nth time...

Bob Foster overrated??? Never lost...ever...to a lt hwt. Best jab and one punch ko power in both fists. He hit like a hammer. Foster lands one solid punch on RJJ suspect chin and call the paramedics.

Yes, he never lost to Ahumada, in his home town, on a split decision.

Foster was a novice late sub ,Jones was the no3 rated heavyweight in that fight.

Precisely what relevance has this to Foster facing Jones at LHVY?
