Why does anyone think Pacquiao's boss Bob Arum will allow this fight to happen? Arum won't work with Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions and it will have to be on Showtime not HBO which Top Rank have their contests on.

Considering Pac tends to lunge forward when he punches, he won't be moving to the side by the time floyd bumps his chest with his shoulder unless pac is That much fleet footed than floyd (which I don't think he is).
Well ya saying Pac loses simply because Floyd is a counterpuncher is simplistic... But it holds merit because Pac thrives at someone that stays in front of him or comes at him.... And floyd certainly won't do that until he has full control of where the fight is being fought...

Here's the thing.. I think Pac fights one way effectively... Floyd can take the fight anywhere and he'd still have the upper hand

Another technique he uses alot and is extremely succesful with it....he gets inside on Pac and Pac will be over matched there as well...Pac lunges alot so this trick will work 10/10 times!

    excellent point

Pac's contract with TR will expire on Dec. 2014..
Floyd should have two more fights left by then..
If Pac wins impressively against Rios, then 2 impressive fight on 2014..
then now there is a possibility of this fight to happen on 2015.. :tired:tired

Even if Pac beat Rios, knowing Floyd he will avoid a Pacquiao fight.

unstoppable force meets an immovable object..

but that immovable object just doesn't want to meet that force.

Pac lunging forward would indeed be taken advantage of by May, which is why his head movement, feints and general foot speed (he will be faster than May since he is going forward plus his square stance) will be key.
He needs to confuse FMJ and counter those jabs by his lead left.

Pac is great against anybody who doesn't have excellent lateral movement.
It's not as simply "non-movers" really.
Cotto was a mover (and pretty good too at the beginning). Look at what happened to him. Hatton has always been known as quick on his feet. KTFO2. Mosley was excessively moving. He got knock downed all the same. Bradley also tried to be a moving target, he got tagged over and over again whilst moving backwards.
It's about WHAT KIND OF MOVEMENTS they employ. And only LATERAL movements work great against Pac's style.

Floyd only does lateral movements when cornered (he will usually wait for a punch, roll with it, jab and then pivot out).
He stands in front of you and either step forward to throw a jab, step back to throw a check hook or a straight right, or he will lock his shoulders and try to roll with your punches.
When up against southpaws, he will put up a high guard and move forward or back to control the distance, all the while jabbing here and there.
That is not the best way to fight against Pac.
Effective, yes, but until you got Pac's movement pegged (which took JMM 42 rounds and a lifetime of watchign Pac videos btw), Pac's inherent speed and great foot placement will get to you.

JMM's way is the best. He KO'd Pac by stepping laterally to the left and forward, placing Pac out of position for a counter and directly in front of his right and then BAM!
    FMJ doesn't do that.
Here's an image that shows exactly that:
    http://i2.cdn.turner.com/si/2012/wr...2/09/pacquiao-marquez/pacquiao-marquez-p1.jpg

The best part of the above photo is not the punch but rather the placement of JMM's lead foot. He got Pac completely out of position for a counter or to pivot out.
On the other hand, this is how FMJ will usually react to an oncoming assault:

    http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2012/0505/box_g_mayweather_cotto_b2_600.jpg

    http://www.thesweetscience.com/images/stories/boxing/MayweatherOrtiz_Hogan33.jpg

He will either lean back or step back. Again, gold mine for a Pac straight left.

Anyway, I think that's enough proof that I know my boxing.

I was merely making an assertion that although yes, FMJ will most probably win at this point of their careers, his style if very different from JMM's who's style in turn neutralizes Pac's style very well.
And that it's common misconception that Pac shines best "when his target is right in front of him" (which is absurd btw), but rather, he is best when his opponent only moves in straight lines and not as aggressive as Erik Morales while on the back foot.

Remember, pac missed 1,OOO punches against clottey! does not have any inside skills
struggles with movement, jabs, bodyshots, right hands, uppercuts, iinability to adapt to boxers.

It's the only real challenge out there for Floyd, and that's the reason it will never happen.

I just dont see it.....Floyd wins at any point in their careers.

Floyd just has too many tools and ways to win

And i still dont see how he closes the distance on Floyd....especially the Floyd that's with his Father
