I think you're synonymising bodybuilding as a sport with pros - it's more than that; anyone engaged in hypertrophy for aesthetics is 'bodybuilding' - but the two pursuits differ to the same degree as a casual footballer does to a pro. Bear in mind that almost every single steroid user would have been training for at least a year, solidly, probably longer, before using steroids.
It just seems crazy to me that anyone would take these drugs, which are designed for ill people, when they're not actually ill. :-(
"If ya don't eat ya won't grow!" Bodybuilders generally can't be trusted with diet issues though. They have too many 'diet issues' lol. atsch
Well, there's not many adverse effects to be honest that's why. There's a few caveats to that, for example teenagers or folk in their early twenties can permanently alter their hormonal balance (for females it can be a little more severe - like permanently altering the depth of their voice) ; for individuals in their late teens, the effects can result in stunting growth. But for a healthy male in his mid twenties and older there are hardly any adverse effects if done correctly, even for oral steroids. It's like anything: all in moderation.
when I was about 10 or 12 something like that I had a bad strain of the flu and got prescribed them by the doctor, they were like little red tic tacs
That would've most likely been corticosteroids, not anabolic-androgenic steroids. Different animal. :good
The main thing about gaining muscle is to bust your ass of in the gym. Recover and then bust your ass off again. Focus more on putting more weight in the desired rep intervall than ****ing around with a few grams here.
To have any large muscle grow you need to consume 1/1.5 Grams of protein for every pound of body weight. Nothing wrong with protein shakes to help make up some of that but as your body weight is so important I would suggest a soya protein as its extremely low in carb and calorie intake. None of these are myths and one who says different is silly! Try to increase your water consumption. There are some brilliant supplements out there that will help as well. beta Alanine is excellent and will help with the lactic acid build up when your muscles start to crack and is completely legal. Branch chain amino acids will help with recovery also. There is a lot of hype around over training as well and so far looks very good.
Gym workout is important to build muscle. Healthy food with more high calories is good to eat for muscles. I think if a person wants to build muscles then it is good to join a gym for training.
